Inside the Decline of Fox News

https://politicalwire.com/2018/03/30/the-decline-of-fox-news/

"SNIP..........

Ralph Peters: “You could measure the decline of Fox News by the drop in the quality of guests waiting in the green room. A year and a half ago, you might have heard George Will discussing policy with a senator while a former Cabinet member listened in. Today, you would meet a Republican commissar with a steakhouse waistline and an eager young woman wearing too little fabric and too much makeup, immersed in memorizing her talking points.”

“This wasn’t a case of the rats leaving a sinking ship. The best sailors were driven overboard by the rodents.”

“As I wrote in an internal Fox memo, leaked and widely disseminated, I declined to renew my contract as Fox News’s strategic analyst because of the network’s propagandizing for the Trump administration. Today’s Fox prime-time lineup preaches paranoia, attacking processes and institutions vital to our republic and challenging the rule of law.”

If a few have left, the remaining ones are only more hate filled and ignorant than ever. SCARY!

3. The ship was always infested with rats, though. From Day 1.

They spent a quarter century breeding and building their numbers. Maybe Roger Ailes was better at insulating the colonel from the realities, maybe he just never noticed, maybe he’s a nearsighted gopher and didn’t recognize what kind of other rodents were there until they got real close, but they were always there

already peddled their Movie Production Company to Disney. Fox now is News Division, and Sports. And with issues arising from NFL Broadcasting and Viewership numbers slipping, you can not tell me they are headed for Finical trouble.

6. I don't understand why it's not a topic of discussion that so many Fox "analysts" are just bullies

Their fallback position is meanness and negativity. It both soils their viewers' souls and whets their appetite for more.

Why would anyone want to spend a minute listening to a bunch of mean, nasty, negative commentary? It's no more informed than the spoutings of a drunk racist uncle. It's just so sad.

I think yesterday's Nichole Wallace show was the first time I've heard this aspect of Fox specifically addressed in the MSM.
