Every commercial is a political attack ad and 99% of them are sponsored by SuperPACS with glossy names that are usually controlled by KKKarl Rove. There is even one here against Obama that is from some Israel Superpac that questions why Obama hasnt visited them yet.
I dont think I'll be able to survive tv till November. Cant I vote already and put some kind of chip in my tv that excludes me from .....
This is why I DVR my shows

I watch programs online. less commercials. We don't even have the TeeVee's hooked up for digital. We haven't watched broadcast programing in years.

I used to think we got a lot of political shit, Linda McMahon has been able to self-fund a pretty good number of really pathetic ads, but on the whole it's nothing.
We were visiting friends in Missouri in 2008 and the difference is something else. Now with unlimited money I can only imagine how pathetic it must be.

I live in Texas.
Therefore we both know that Texas is batshit insane.
I miss Molly Ivins and Ann Richards!

(4,340 posts)It's a shame, too, because Paul Sadler is pretty bad-ass.

(6,268 posts)Years ago - I can't remember who. I just remember seeing the name on the ballot and thinking, "Hey!! That's that annoying MFer..."
I don't watch TV or almost anything during big election seasons.

(23,218 posts)I'm so sick of hearing Romney's voice belting out "America the Beautiful" in that awful monotone voice or Hillary yelling "Shame on you, Barack Obama."
They're on constantly here.

(9,729 posts)Everyone knows its paltry 6 electoral votes are going Repuke anyway, so there's no need to waste a lot of money advertising.

(95,337 posts)I'm in Delaware which is 100% blue but since I'm in the Philly Metro area I get ads for PA and NJ races.
I had to switch my morning wake-up radio station to WXPN out of philly since it's a non-commericial member supported radio station.

(42,757 posts)They are all anti Obama and anti Bill Nelson. Sometimes two or three at a time on each
program's commercial break. And they are such obvious lies and exaggerations.
Granted, they have their work cut out for them to say anything positive about Mittens.

(7,429 posts)Even Rmoney's ads are anti-Obama. That stupid guy who says that he built his company himself took money from the government. It's still playing here.
I will say this much - at least the President is airing positive ads during the Olympics. I think it looks like crap seeing all of the negative attack ads after Ryan Lochte just won a race. And the Liberal media keeps saying it's Obama who is going negative. Really?? Living in Florida - we know better . . .
Control-Z
(15,682 posts)and still have to hear some of the meanest anti-Obama ads ever. I'm not sure what the point is. Lol.
I'll tell you what, though. For me personally - I think I might like living in a swing state for the purpose of being able to get out and actually fight for a campaign. Does that make. sense? Doing much of anything in California is just singing to the choir. Unless there are LGBT or abortion rights issues on the ballot it seems kind of pointless.
I'm not sure my BP could take it, though. Mean, bigoted, conservative, assholes really piss me off!

(28,158 posts)No matter how bad it may seem to you, it could always be worse. We're being bombarded with Teabagger vs Establishment Republican advertising. Now that's some vomit inducing ads if ever there were any.

(20,683 posts)Maybe Citizen's united will actually give companies the power to beat the crap out of the RNC and the GOP.
Glad to know they're still hacking away at each other.
I'm in Connecticut: Just the occasional rMoney ad saying. "I's ok to make a change. Obama tried, you tried..." so patronizing. I have heard Obama's ad with Mittens singing, and it really makes me laugh every time.

(28,158 posts)Today's the runoff elections, so all is almost at an end. It's looking as if our Establishment Republican running for Senate (Dewhurst) may well lose to our Teabagger (Cruz). It has been one Ugly race.
