I am developing a theory that they used it as a secret code to identify themselves to each other, but like GMO pollen, it spread beyond the intended circle of use, and others started doing it too (whether intentionally or not, no one knows).

So now, if someone types, "I had to give my dog's to the neighbor's because the Clinton's were speaking at a town hall," that person is typing in Republicanese, but no one knows any more if they are doing it to identify themselves as a Republican, or doing it to try to infiltrate their local Republicans by thus identifying themselves as one.
