Taking Tylenol or ibuprofen can cause sterility in your granchchildren!

[link:https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/04/16/taking-paracetamol-pregnancy-may-make-grandchildren-infertile/|

The study found that the medication made marks on the DNA, with permanent consequences.

Ovaries exposed to paracetamol for one week had more than 40 per cent fewer egg-producing cells. After ibuprofen exposure, the number of cells was almost halved.
And testicular tissue exposed to painkillers in a culture dish had around a quarter fewer sperm-producing cells after exposure to paracetamol or ibuprofen.

People who go around casually flopping their junk into various petri dishes should not be having kids anyway. There's something wrong with that sort of behavior!

But how does that pass down to to the grandkids???

It changes the DNA of the fetus.

females develope all their eggs while inutero. These drugs effect how many they develope. Males produce fewer spem making cells.

This can also be passed on to their children.

An antibiotic prescribed by a doctor because of pneumonia, yes. Tylenol for a headache, no.

Of the few things you were allowed to take. A coworker just had a baby and it was still on her list.

Maybe in moderation?

And it's not on the list of approved meds for pregnant women.

A coworker is pregnant and saw this article. She panicked and called her OB. The OB said the results were from a small pool and most were excessive users. She was told that the key, as to everything in life, was light to moderate use. She also said the OB stated they were tired of sensational reporting that does nothing but scare and shame women.

You can take if you have a headache, to bring down a fever or to help with body aches. You just can't take it every day. You shouldn't take it every day or often anyway since extensive use can cause liver damage.

It will be hard to find any women that have any viable eggs and the men will have such low sperm rates nature will take care of our overpopulation itself.

...and like everything else, moderation is key.

Personally I choose Aspirin, simply because it is an anti-inflammatory (which is what I want) and its side effects are so well known by now. I use it in moderation, primarily for age-related arthritis, and not every day. The prescription drugs my doctor has had me try have all caused swelling of the tongue and throat, and are supposed to be taken every day, not just "as needed."

But not everyone is allowed to take aspirin, such as those who have had an ulcer. So what are they supposed to do for occasional pain relief?

Not only is this article less comprehensive than one would expect, but your presentation is alarmist.

And I say that after a few years of doing breast cancer research using Petri dishes of cell cultures.

If only what happened in the dishes so easily fit with what happens in living creatures. I would have single-handedly cured cancer by my mid-20's.

The whole point is that these drugs can damage your DNA for generations.

If you are an adult and have already had your children then you don't need to worry about your DNA.

Again, how fetal tissue responds in isolation vs how it responds in the womb are not really comparable. There are a lot of chemicals that will, by themselves, harm DNA, but when sent through a human body have their functionality altered in many different ways to render them harmless.
