11 House Republicans call on Sessions to prosecute HRC and 7 other "political enemies" of Trump

House Republicans calling on Jeff Sessions to prosecute eight of Trump’s political foes

The letter issued Wednesday morning urging Attorney General Jeff Sessions to open investigations — and then prosecutions — of eight former government or law enforcement officials who have drawn the president’s ire over the past three years.

The lawmakers called on Sessions to investigate Hillary Clinton, former FBI director James Comey and his former deputy Andrew McCabe, former attorney general Loretta Lynch and former acting attorney general Sally Yates, former acting assistant attorney general Dana Boente, and FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

“We are especially mindful of the dissimilar degrees of zealousness that has marked the investigations into Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and and the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, respectively,” the lawmakers said.

The letter was signed by GOP representatives Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Dave Brat (R-VA), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Paul Gosar (R-WY), Andy Harris (R-MD), Jody Hice (R-GA), Todd Rokita (R-IN), Claudia Tenney (R-NY) and Ted Yoho (R-FL).

but I guess that they don't know (or care) how dangerous and deplorable such a request sounds in a democratic republic.

This list gives new meaning to "right wing nut job."

They want to prosecute political enemies like they do in totalitarian regimes. Fuck them.

Should help give Joe Donnelly a smoother path to re-election in the fall.

Yes.

Republicans have a super majority here and (I think) Donnelly is the only Democratic statewide officeholder left at the moment.

There are some blue pockets in Indiana such as Indianapolis (Marion County), Bloomington (Monroe County), and northern Indiana (Lake County) but we get outvoted by the dark red rural counties and some of the richer counties like Hamilton County. Plus, blue areas like Indianapolis *mysteriously* don't get as many voting machines as some of the other counties and, last election, a Democratic voter registration organization got raided and shut down, though I don't think that anybody ever said what came out of that, didn't really say what the allegations were (just lots of talk about "bad actors" ).

will lighten some of that red? Sounds like Holder/Obama may need to pay a visit regarding the voting suppression. The disproportionate allocation of voting machines should be a major issue across the nation. They should be allocated by number of votes in the prior election of the same type.

the teachers taught about Banana Republic dictators and African warlords who seized power by putting their opponents on trial to silence the opposition. Or maybe their schools were too poor to affords history textbooks so they never learned about fascism and the despots of bygone eras who ruled unchecked as kings and monarchs.
