I've been thinking about this for awhile, all this talk and drumbeat in right wing noise chamber to investigate/prosecute Hillary and people in the DOJ and FBI, could this be setting the table for blanket pardons for everyone on both sides? Nixon floated this idea during Watergate, pardon the Watergate burglars along with some Democrats on drummed up charges of political espionage and just say "both sides do it, let's move on".
Either that or we are going down a road where it becomes acceptable to imprison your political opponents. From there it's not a big jump to imprisoning anyone who disagrees with you. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

(31,828 posts)Clinton would have to be convicted to be pardoned.
Those 11 Republicans trying to push this meme? It's just to get votes this November. They know we are taking back our country, and they will be a major minority.
Pay no attention to the sleaze balls.

(31,828 posts)I don't think we should pay ANY attention to the accusations against Clinton.
The whole debacle was a fund raising / gotv effort on the part of Republicans - and they used my tax dollars for their 'witch hunt'/fund raising.
Those 11 sick little fucks need to take HRC's name out of their mouths.
She has committed NO offense.
Sorry - but I don't care about 'legalities' when an innocent women who did NOTHING wrong keeps being used as a punching bag by anyone.

(7,947 posts)She's very cool, but this has to be the last straw.
They've tried to turn her into a punching bag, a traitor-- and just to support that horrible trump.

(52,243 posts)it's very hard to justify letting someone like donnie off the hook if there's overwhelming evidence of criminal activity, especially if it's in matters easily distanced from politics, such as tax evasion, fraud, money laundering (from his businesses, having nothing to do with campaign finances), etc.
but it's also easy to see the idiotic republican diehards nevertheless insisting on political payback and then imprisoning democrats on the slightest pretense and pretending it's fair now.
in truth, actually, i don't think donnie will ever go to prison. his lawyers will delay things until he can claim his health is failing (we know he can find doctors to attest to anything) and even if he's convicted, any prison sentence would be a death sentence. so if it even gets that far, he'll be sentenced to house arrest, oh boo hoo hoo, the poor baby.

(39,343 posts)We're not making deals with traitorous scum who usurped Democracy all in the name of convenience, because that would validate everything that rw "News" has screamed about for 20+ years.
