(90,339 posts)He was the only person who could have made this information public and not sparked a partisan war. Country over party. Convention wisdom had his party getting stomped. Why would you not question this unless you had a pretty clear picture of the intended outcome of the Russian interference.
And then there is 2.5 million dollars that went into the PAC that seems to trace back to Russia.

(9,990 posts)He has the highest disapproval rating of any sitting senator at 49% and the lowest approval ranking in his own state. Like all Republicans, McConnell craves power and wealth, and he has gained both. He was just re-elected in 2016 so he will be around awhile to keep demonstrating that he does not care about democratic principles or anyone but the wealthy. There are two senators whom I absolutely detest. McConnell is one and ated Cruz is the other. Both are snakes.

(7,813 posts)...and why McConnell knew that obstructing a SCOTUS pick would give the GOP the pick.
Because they think they have a plausible plan that will get them through all this.
Otherwise, when the hammer falls on this administration, are they just hoping that americans will easily forget what they've seen the GOP do over the last year and a half?
