I just got a story on my IPhone from CNN Politics that President Obama and Bill Clinton would be

attending Barbara Bush's funeral with their wives. (sorry I don't know how to provide a link from a cell phone). I thought that they would and said so earlier today in another thread and gave my reasons for why I thought they would. I also said I thought Jimmy Carter would attend with his wife as well. So far I've seen no word from former President Carter, but if he and Rosalyn are healthy, I believe they both will attend also.

That wasn't the consensus in an earlier post. The consensus then seemed to be that husbands never go. politicaljunkie41910 Apr 2018 #2

That consensus (really, any consensus) by a herd is an ever-moving goal-post predicated on the ethical convenience of a mere moment.

So, I don't know how much a true tradition it supposedly is that only the First Ladies attend.

It is a tradition that most former first ladies attend and while not always the case, sometimes former presidents accompany their wives. Reagan and Ford both attended Pat Nixon's funeral in 1993; George W. Bush attended Betty Ford's funeral and Nancy Reagan's funeral, Jimmy Carter attended Lady Bird Johnson's funeral.

He doesn't have the guts to face the Obama's, the Clinton's and the Bush's after the horrible things he's said and done to them, and he would not be welcome.
