This entire thread is worth a read. Makes me

"She was not accessible," they say, though she walked through rain to shake hands and listen to concerns.

There's a reason why you never saw these photos in the news or attached to articles. Let's make sure they are for the next female candidate who runs for President.

It wasn't just FOX. It was the mainstream media. It was social media. This was a concerted effort to favor one candidate and skewer the other. The media's influence on voters cannot be overstated. Our country's reins are in the hands of the wealthy and privileged, and their lack of candor and cavalier treatment of the truth signals the death knell of democracy.

where the reporter sat down with the staffs of both Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Dole, whose husbands were running against each other. Elizabeth Dole was supposed to represent the so-called reputation of Southern warmth and hospitality and Hillary wasn't. However, the upshot of the article turned out to be that Elizabeth put on a facade but behind the scenes her staffers didn't think she was very caring of their lives whereas Hillary's staffers mentioned how she would always enter the room and ask whoever was there how their children were, even remembering their children's names, or ask about a particular event in their lives and would always leave with a friendly "See you later alligator" and laugh.

Of course only the people who read Newsweek would hear about that.

She toured the country well before the primaries,(her listening tour in 2015) meeting with small groups of people to hear their concerns. Her one on one interactions with people were not as exciting as Bernie's or Trumps "Big" rallies. She wasn't a carnival barker or great orator, or wildly gesturing politician. She simply listened and spoke to people. For that the media called her a failed candidate.

In following many reporters tweets during the campaign, it was clear that they knew (even owned up to it) that they were damaging her campaign & definitely going too far (600+ days covering EMAILS?). Some were so arrogant to think they could keep it from getting out of hand, control things so Trump would not be elected. We all saw how well that worked out! Personally, I think the media had more to do with Hillary's loss than anything else.

Especially when what was said by both was in the media the next day.

So no, one didn't need $2700 to learn what was said, nor did someone need to be in a huge crowd to hear what was said.

Security guards to keep protestors from BLM at bay certainly doesn't indicate "access."

I think that there are some candidates that will never, ever be considered to have "good optics" by some.

They can't very well acknowledge a rally where HRC highlighted that she wasn't taking anything for granted and that every vote counts. That gets in the way of their narrative of an arrogant candidate who thought she couldn't lose.

She did far more listening sessions with smaller groups in her second run. And of course, she is told that those "optics are bad."

Either way, she's wrong....

Yes, fundraising is neccessary. Some politicians get excoriated for it more than others. She did it, because Obama didn't, and she raised it for whoever was going to run for office on the Democratic ticket.

Why do you think that being in a crowd of 28,000 people gave you more "access" to a candidate? Especially with security guards to protect against protesters from BLM.

Some events get excoriated as "facism" for calling in security guards, while others are considered "accessible."

Stops at middle schools and town halls might not have the "optics" of thousands of people in a crowd, but certainly it's more accessible.
