this afternoon during happy hour. Great sport, and great competitors. One of the two women will now compete in the gold medal round. That was followed by the amazing women's clean and jerk weightlifting finals. Medals were won in the second competition, but I don't remember who won them and don't care. It was amazing to watch.
For me, the thing is that watching the actual competition is what I enjoy. Every athlete is at a peak of performance, so it is a joy to see them. MSNBC is doing a great job of showing interesting competitions. I'd much rather see the ones I saw than some major event. Much more interesting to watch. BTW, there were no Americans competing in either sport that I watched today.

(146,325 posts)church basement when I was a kid. What a workout, and what athleticism on the part of the players! I never even thought of it as an athletic event back in the early 1960s when I was a high school kid. It was a quiet game you could play with anyone. One of the few games where boys and girls played against each other, so it was a good light competition that built friendships.
At the Olympics, though, it's an amazing display of skill and ability.

(3,650 posts)The camera viewed the room from one end. One would think that the table would appear to be a trapezoid with the larger side nearest the camera, but it appeared as the opposite. I don't know much about television, but that seemed backwards.
