Look at past records of GOP presidents hiring gov't workers
Look at past records of GOP presidents trying to balance the budget.
Dem presidents have been "better" compared to the GOP's own yardsticks for decades on the above.
The GOP scream about the deficit when they're not in a political position to benefit from the spending

Bush never could see anything wrong with all the wrong things he did. The means justifies the end, in their holier than thou little book.(if you didn't lie and cheat, you didn't do everything that you could do to win)

Kind of like how they use the Abortion issue- they don't actually try to do something about it at the federal level, but use it to rally their base. The deficit will grow ever larger due to tax cuts and military spending, while fiscally insignificant (but vital) programs like food stamps and medicare will be decimated.
