Putin is reverse-gaming Trump!
Why were the inflammatory photos of the Oval Office meeting with Kislyak and Lavrov made public by Tass? Why did the Russian lawyer who met in Trump Tower with Kushner, Don Jr., and Manafort admit two weeks ago that she had real connections to Russian intelligence? There have been other less important leaks from Russia that have been of a similar nature, in that they have caused a lot of trouble for Trump. Obviously, those actions had to have been approved by Putin.
Why did Putin decide to do those things? Russia knew that since the Trump/Russia/collusion story blew up, Trump would not be able to do Russia's bidding nearly as much as Russia wanted. It became obvious that the item that was of the greatest importance to Russia (the lifting of sanctions), could not occur. Simply put, once they reached this conclusion, Trump's only value to Russia was for him to be the catalyst for the tremendous amount of strife and turmoil we are seeing today, which will only get worse.
Yes, Trump is now nearly useless to Russia, except as a vehicle for bringing upheaval to the US. And it WILL get better for Russia as the investigation and prosecutions move forward within what will surely be an increasingly explosive scenario.
They may not need to do further damage to Trump. However, if they determine that further damage is necessary for them to intensify the chaos as much as possible, and to lengthen the duration, expect more leaks from them (and yes, that could include even the fabled pee tape).
