who is a real piece of work, and more than just 'some lawyer.' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Toensing

Ordinarily I don't think Hayes is a great interviewer, but as a non-lawyer, I think he did OK with this 'piece of work.'

She has been batshit crazy since the Clinton era. I think Chris did fine dealing with her.

is an Executive opinion..NOT a judiciary opinion....I bet the RWNJ would not have appeared if that was the format...like invite Bob Bauer WH counsel for our President Obama..here is just a how he sizes up the Nixon Long Shadow and the judiciary...

a special counsel should not consider himself bound by an opinion of executive branch lawyers that turns on its head, and to the executive’s advantage, what the courts have made plain about their role in adjudicating the scope of presidential immunities from legal process. The special counsel is charged under the regulations with investigating and prosecuting federal crimes. If the special counsel has cause to believe that the president committed such, he should pursue the testimony that he needs and bring charges if the evidence supports them.

I had to read the legal analysis several times to understand what Bob Bauer was getting at...thus the excerpt - have at it...

Be well all, we will get through this...

This is the conclusion of the article

The president has the option, of course, of invoking his Fifth Amendment rights.

Or, as appears increasingly possible, Mr. Trump and his lawyers can turn for inspiration to the Nixon presidency and the Watergate era and make his case for the president’s immunity from criminal investigation and prosecution. There is little reason to believe that the results will be any different 44 years later.

I didn't know it was an executive opinion
she was basically saying anyone who doesn't agree with her do not know the law

His legal background would have carved her over-simplified indignant viewpoints into tiny pieces.

Chris acts as incredulous as I would, hearing such nutbuggery coming from a frazzled-out righty. I think it's best to do what he did: let her talk, then let the panel dissect it with her out of earshot. She would never concede a point to anyone anyway; so why bother?
