Some of us were always wondering who the culprit was and I was in the kitchen filling up my water glass when a woman from the other side of the floor came in and said "I can't stand listening to this "fake news" and turned the TV off. I didn't say anything because generally she is a very nice person and I was kind of shocked. I didn't want to get into a "situation" at work, but it really pissed me off.
From now on, when the TV is off or on another channel, I am going to turn it to CNN (not my favorite channel, but the only news network we have).

I would have told her that I'm watching that, even if I wasn't.

(63,221 posts)I held back. And I was watching it. I think if there had been a few other people in there watching I might have said something. We have a pretty multicultural office and a lot of people from other countries. I doubt very much they are Trump fans. Anyway, it just pissed me off.

(51,590 posts)1. Turning it off without even asking if anyone was watching it.
2. Giving her political opinion in a public area when she wasn't asked.

(63,221 posts)I have heard her go off on liberals before. This isn't the first time. She's pretty bold considering the fact that it's Boston and that it's a very multi-cultural office. However she is your typical suburban white, uneducated, admin person. She hates liberals but I doubt she could really tell you why. I don't engage her. I don't want to make a scene at work.

(5,240 posts)correct to do the same. That's why we get rolled over. She seemed more than willing to make a scene.

(63,221 posts)I might have turned off the TV, but I never would have made the comment. Especially since I think there are a lot of liberals in our office. The arrogance of the deplorables never ceases to amaze me. They think everyone should think the way they do.

I can imagine how pissed you were, smirky. I probably wouldn't have said anything, either, though.. in a work environment like that.

(63,221 posts)up against the wrong person. One of her managers is Indian and the other is an Italian national (but very liberal judging from the groups he sponsors). She had better watch herself. I would like to say something, but I think these people are going to end up hanging themselves in the long run.
Hope all is well w/ you Cha!
