Cha
(297,220 posts)Bono the singer who does a lot of charity work?
Sounds like the idiots they are.
She was just stating that "death" isn't over the line for them.
GusBob
(7,286 posts)I *think* it means herself. As in she gets death threats, and her husband should be alive
Cha

i believe you are correct.

(82,383 posts)though not an American citizen, presumably. Sonny was a conservative, so it might make sense.
Bono the singer does a great Bill Clinton impersonation.
Cha
(297,220 posts)wrong. GusBob just pointed out to me that Cher was probably talking about herself when repubs said the ".. wrong Bono was killed".
Of course!
Thanks for Bono!

(49,383 posts)Mary, was elected to his seat after his death in 1998. She served multiple terms and was always in lockstep with GOP leadership. During her tenure, she struck me as quite clueless and unimaginative. But then, that's descriptive of 90% of Republicans.
Cha
(297,220 posts)that but there's much more to the story.
I remember Cher saying once that Sonny was on reconnaissance in the republican party.. obviously joking with wishful thinking.

(90,683 posts)Got it? Cher didn't and doesn't use his last name professionally, but they were married, which made her "Mrs. Sonny Bono." So they wish she was dead instead of him.
As for the war hero and patriot John McCain, Trumpists are with their Dear Leader in dismissing his service by saying "He was only a hero because he got captured. I like people who didn't get captured." And apparently that attitude has become "Who cares what he thinks? He's dying anyway."
They are vile people.

(102,273 posts)Meaning SHE (their perceived liberal enemy) should have been the one to die, not Republican Sonny Bono, her x-husband.
Are you really young by chance? Not meaning to insult, but I am wondering how it is you don't know anything about Cher...?
treestar
(82,383 posts)She has always used "Cher" and so "Cher Bono" does not jump out at me. I didn't think of it at first, either. She never used a last name - I couldn't say what her birth name was. She never used Allman either.
hlthe2b
(102,273 posts)and knowing their son, Chaz has always used Bono, I do connect her even though she is and will always be "CHER"...
She's great, not only talented but willing to take on these nasty Trump-loving a'holes.
BTW, my comment to the other poster was because they apparently didn't know who Sonny Bono was, that he was her ex-husband, or that he'd died in the skiing accident. Not because he didn't get the "other Bono" reference. She is so iconic (and for so long, so was Sonny), that I thought they might be quite young and thus understandable.

(4,291 posts)Henceforth and forever more, in my posts and comments, the word trump shall appear in lowercase letters only.
Ill even take that one step further: from now on, I will refer to this sub-human in lowercase letters only:
cadet bone spurs;
cheetolini;
drumpf.
This skid-mark on the underwear of our great nation does not deserve capitalization.
Now, if only there was a way to post in a lower font size...
Thanks, Cher!
