CA-GOV: Tossup for Second Spot Between Cox And Villaraigosa

A new USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll in California shows Gavin Newsom (D) leading the gubernatorial race with 21%, but with the race between John Cox (R) and Antonio Villaraigosa (D) for second place unpredictable and volatile.

“With the second slot up for grabs and a substantial bloc of undecided voters two weeks from the election, Newsom’s campaign has unleased a barrage of ads in an attempt to manipulate the primary vote. The strategy aims to influence who he’ll face in the general election, with Cox — a conservative out of step with California’s left-leaning voters on many issues including immigration policy — among his top choices.”

A wildcard: 39% are still undecided.

1. Why doesn't Newsome focus on pulling the other democrat through.

Instead of helping a republican get on the November ballot? The height of selfishness on his part, two Dems for governor would gut republicans in down ticket races and help the party tremendously.

What he is doing is nasty. If I lived in Cali, I would not trust him.

Villaraigosa and De Leon are very strong supporters of Trumps plan for private companies sucking all the water from the desert and selling it to Los Angeles. Newsom and Feinstein do not support this debacle

I guess the perfect is the enemy of the good. I have long had doubts about Newsom, his efforts to kneecap other democrats in favor of a republican confirms all my doubts about him, IMO. He is just a power hungry empty suit that had one or two important issues that he once front ran. Anyone who would have sex with the wife or husband of a loyal friend is a snake in my book.

10. Who is sleeping with who is a mark of character, and therefore trustworthiness.

Exhibit A, Donanl J Trump. The fact that Newsom married a rightwing nut and is trying to kneecap democrats instead of thinking about the good of the California Democratic Party, tells me a lot about his character and his trustworthiness to faithfully always do what is in the public's best interest (Exhibit A for trustworthiness, Barrack H. Obama: cheated on wife: no cases reported, cheated on friends: no cases reported, put the interests of the party before his own: constantly, put the interests of the nation above all else: always for 8 years and even before that.
