(10,252 posts)We know that through various oligarchs, Russian money went to the NRA and the RNC. From there, onto the campaign chests of GOPs running for election. That money is above and beyond American corporate money that went to the GOP. Filthy disgusting corruption.

(22,037 posts)Ryan's running away. He knows the Russian money is going to come to light but he's hoping that the whole criminal mess will be broad enough for him to slink away in the chaos. Ryan is as guilty as Nunes, Rohrbacher and especially Trump.
It will be instructive to our Republic to see how wide Robert Mueller's nets are cast and what they bring in.

I know he's not "retiring" in the traditional sense. In terms of being employed and taking the cash-out, he is. And I agree that he's escaping the burning building. It seemed like such a sweet deal...he knew Trump was a monkey and that if he only kissed his ass, his beloved tax cuts would see the light of day. He wants MORE, of course...like gutting Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security to PAY for those tax cuts. But he also sees the writing on the wall, so he's gathering up his swag and heading for the exits.
