"They are sitting there screaming and crying, 'Please don't take me away'...There are 700 little kids sitting there by themselves without their parents. They are traumatized."

(36,462 posts)At their core is a group that enjoys being mean & looks for reasons to justify being mean. "You knew you shouldn't have come here, so it's okay that we're taking your children."
I am just sick this morning, reading this & watching the Chris Hayes segment.

(9,287 posts)Its really inhuman evil and disgusting what they doing. And no amount of washing will make their hands clean again.

(36,462 posts)Only a few moments every few weeks to talk to their child? I'm as guilty as anyone, but we've had what, five major marches in the 18 months this disaster has been in the White House? Are we suffering from "nothing I do makes a difference?" Or lack of organization? Or what? This is not encouraging that we will do anything in numbers, if he fires Mueller, if we are going about our Memorial Day plans knowing that our government is taking children from their parents. Like I said, I'm as guilty as everyone.

(9,287 posts)I listened to a lecture recently from an immigration attorney working with several religious and nonprofits. He basically told our indivisible group that nothing will change until the power structure changes in Washington. His stories were absolutely horrifying and that ICE is extremely aggressive and getting more so everyday.
That Chris Hayes segment should be mandatory watching for every citizen that values this Country.
Meanwhile the midterms are our big test as to what kind of people we are.
Maybe the exposure of immigration evil is the beginning of the end for this massive cruelty. We can hope anyway. Hang in there! sometimes I am way out on the ledge but today feeling hopeful at least somewhat.
