She also re-tweeted this bitter little "martyr" gem:

Joseph Watson Retweeted Jon Levine
Maybe if Roseanne had just lied about what she tweeted, blamed non-existent "hackers" and stuck to what was obviously a bogus excuse for weeks, the media would have immediately forgiven her.
Oh I forgot, she's a conservative. Totally different rules.

The consequences? She apologized- multiple times-Her agents dropped her, her show's been canceled & she's been vilified by everyone. That goes way beyond consequences. You have your pound of flesh how much more do you want?

Interesting to see the crossover between people who thought the NFL banning kneeling for the anthem was a First Amendment debacle, but think ABC didn't raise any First Amendment issues by firing Roseanne. (/1)

BUT SHE'S SORRY! WHY CAN'T YOU BELIEVE THAT?

(18,837 posts)1). She lost what had to be an obscenely high-paying gig for season 2, and the show PROBABLY would have stayed on air for as long as Trump is in office
2). Viacom pulled the plug on reruns of her old show. Can't imagine what the residuals were on that.
3). She really did cost a LOT of people their jobs. I'm sure she's primarily concerned about herself, but the fact remains that a lot of people saw their steady paycheck fly out the window.
4). The difference between Fox renewing the Tim Allen show and "maybe" offering to pick up Roseanne is that the won't make that mistake. Allen's just a dick. Barr is toxic. I have to believe that Fox is smart enough to know the difference.
Her Twitter feed last night was a mix of self-pity via re-tweeting all kinds of martyr nonsense tweeted on her behalf, as well as re-tweeting her usual conspiracy theories.

(50,271 posts)I hope the other actors on the show keep their distance from her. They might recover their careers. She won't.

(18,837 posts)I know that I was disappointed to see John Goodman back on the show. He'd established an impressive career away from her. But it's like KISS reforming with the original members in 1999. It was two guys who didn't like the other two guys but a massive, massive payday.
They'll all move on.
The other thing that I left off of my list is that her agents dropped her like a hot rock. That puts her on similar ground to Trump trying to hire attorneys...she's toxic, and she needs to go away for a while. Maybe go away and stay away, but I don't know...the red hats love her and see her as a "victim."

(58,724 posts)This is all the normal way she tweets. Racism, bigotry, conspiracy theories, hateful vile garbage. Day in day out for years and years.

(18,837 posts)...stating basically that ABC / Disney knew exactly who she is and what she is, but they felt a "need" to address the red hats, that specific culture, and tell the story of "Trump's America." They did, the rattler rattled, and they were bitten by it.

(65,034 posts)Who that criticized the NFL policy said anything about the 1st amendment? Everyone agreed they have the ability as a private enterprise to do that. The criticism was that it was a stupid idea that would likely cause more harm than good.
There is nothing "first amendment" about calling a policy stupid.
So, there is no first amendment issue with the NFL policy and there is none with ABC launching a "not funny for a long time now" person who embarrassed the company.
Shapiro is an idiot, or a liar, or both.
