NFL Owner Testifies...He Changed His Mind About Hiring Kaepernick After Trump's Comments

NFL Owner Testifies Under Oath that He Changed His Mind About Hiring Kaepernick After Trump’s Comments

by Amy Dash | 8:07 pm, May 29th, 2018

An NFL owner testified under penalty of perjury that he changed his mind about hiring NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick because of President Trump’s comments, Kaepernick’s attorney Mark Geragos told me on my podcast “Straight Aim”Tuesday.

The Kaepernick legal team has already conducted more than 14 depositions of league coaches, managers and owners including billionaire Patriots owner Bob Kraft Geragos said, revealing that several owners have testified that Trump and/or Kaepernick’s position regarding the national anthem influenced their hiring practices.

“In this civil case, there’s no doubt that the existing coaches — and I’m talking about Super Bowl-winning coaches — have testified under oath that he’s a starting quarterback in this league, and so that’s mind boggling,” Geragos said. “When you ask them … specifically why he isn’t he being hired … they say because of the national anthem policy.”

“The only reason — and the owners will admit that — they haven’t signed him is they’re afraid of Trump, and they’ve colluded because of Trump,” Geragos said.

Geragos said the new NFL national anthem policy only helps Kaepernick’s case and he didn’t think the NFL would be “stupid enough” to change the national anthem Policy, “but they did.”

They are afraid he'll turn the deplorables against the NFL. I know that NFL fans are a diverse group overall, but I would suspect the redneck NASCAR contingent might be the single largest block.

If there's anything the Trumpanzees embrace with more fervent, brainless, religious zeal than Trump himself, it's professional football.

If the NFL were to close up shop today, there would be an epidemic of mass suicide among the Deplorables the likes of which the world has never seen before.

and he's entitled to speak out about his opinion. Unless he's threatened financial penalties / regulations / or some other governmental enforcement if the NFL hires Kaepernick, then any lawsuit would get tossed out.

And Trump's comments / complaints weren't about Kaepernick being black, or because he had a hairstyle Trump didn't like. It was because of Kaepernick's conduct of kneeling during the national anthem. At least that's what he'll say. It's a nice little legal out for Trump that he seem all to proficient at.

That POS network gave us the worthless fucking asshole in the White House, talks to him on a daily basis, and convinced the people who support this lunatic that the people who don't are not American. The sooner they go the better.

The entire media gave trump more airtime, and softball interviews than they have done to any other candidate.

It wasn't the CEO of fox who said that trump was big revenue for his media business.

They are all complicit to this tragedy.

I do agree with you that it would be a good thing if fox left the airwaves.

In the 2009, Kaepernick was drafted by the Chicago Cubs as a pitcher.

Hell, in street clothes he threw an 87 mph first pitch at a Giants Game

He shouldn't have to leave his country to play in a game that he loves and is very good at any more than he should have to stand for the National Anthem when quietly taking a knee IS respectful and calls attention to very real problems that need solutions.

He's also got nothing to prove. His skills and abilities are known.

He's not Johnny Manziel, trying to show that he can actually play.

Ultimately even if every owner and manager says that the combination of his protests and Trumps statements made them not want to hire him, that isn’t anything that is actionable in court. Because they will just say that a player who does controversial things can be bad for business if they alienate part of the fan base.

It's human nature to readily accept statements that enforce one's world view and to more readily dismiss statements that oppose one's core world view.

The statement by Kaepernick’s attorney Mark Geragos goes against how the NFL. Very few owners are involved in the hiring and firing of players.
