...and his firing gets bogged down in Federal court, could New York State hire Mueller, in the meantime, as a assistant/special prosecutor in the parallel New York investigation of Manafort?

If so, what information would Mueller not be allowed to bring to the prosecutor's desk in NY?

(22,114 posts)somewhat tougher laws on financial crimes than the feds do? Anybody?
Also, just curious, why would Mueller's firing (if it happens) get bogged down in Federal court? Why would it be in court? To disprove that the president has the authority to fire the special prosecutor?

(45 posts)Mueller has already brought the NY Attorney General's Office into the Trump probe as co-investigators due to most
of the crimes taking place in NY State. They already share their information. So NY would have access to everything
the Feds had up to the day Mueller was fired.

(22,114 posts)I imagine multiple crimes have been committed from a state of NY and/or Fed basis, so I imagine (w/ the view that RUMP has pardon powers) they'll coordinate (as states and the feds do, in a lot of crimes, the states wanting to save money, and let the feds do). With RUMP's long time in NY and so forth, I imagine that there's going to be a whole slew of things to select from, from NY's perspective to go after RUMP and his ilk.
