(90,662 posts)Out of 14 offices to vote for, I voted for 5 women, 5 candidates with Hispanic names, 3 with Chinese names, DiFi who I know is Jewish, the rest with European or indeterminate surnames. Some of the down ballot candidates we never heard of and are going by trusted endorsements like Planned Parenthood; have not seen their ads and don't know ethnicity.
In addition, of the ones who did not make my list, quite a handful have Asian-Indian names divided between both parties.
We decided to vote John Chiang for Gov, and Ed Hernandez for Lt Gov.
Sure my state has its manifest flaws, but I do like the diversity.
