UPDATED TO ADD:
A man took a knee during the national anthem at President Trumps Celebration of America event Tuesday amid renewed uproar over NFL protests during the song.
European reporters captured a photo and video of the unidentified individual kneeling during a performance of the national anthem.
Jesper Zølck, a reporter for TV2 in Denmark, tweeted a photo of the man. Zolck wrote that the individual left the event quickly after it ended, and did not want to speak to the media
Trump's "Celebration of America" event lasted roughly 10 minutes. It featured renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" by the United States Marine Band and the United States Army Chorus.

(51,590 posts)I have spoken with a few friends who live in my old hometown of Philly and they have all told me that none of them knows of anyone who doesn't support the Eagles' decision. Everybody in Philly is glad they didn't go and we do not hide our opinions. We are loud and proud fans.

(277 posts)As of yesterday, I bet the Eagles got a million new diehard fans, including me. Oh, and I think a million of us fell in love with this guy taking a knee.
This "celebration" lasted 10 minutes? Are you kidding me? Amazing. Almost as amazing as the buffoon not even taking the time to learn the damned song before getting up there and looking like a fool. Oh, but that ship has sailed, huh?

(24,284 posts)Not exactly how people would dress for a sports team rally.
More like how you would dress if you went to work at the white house today and were forced to go out on the lawn for a Trump rally.

(24,284 posts)What kind of Trump crowd doesn't have people wearing those stupid hats?
WePurrsevere
(24,259 posts)So... What kind of Trump crowd doesn't wear MAGA hats? And what kind of football fans don't wear their team's paraphernalia? I'd guess last minute, put the call out to send gov employees to the WH to put on a 10 minute BS show at tax payers expense (again) fake ones.
It was all for show and just another Trump LIE.

(768 posts)could probably match faces with names and figure out what offices or GOP group these people work for, just like Moore did for his Fahrenheit 9-11 movie and the supposed "concerned voters" in the Florida recount.
These people had to get through WH security to be there.
I wonder how the military feels being props all the time.

So glad you posted these photos and VERY glad this principled young man made his eloquent statement and then left without comment. Powerful!
And I dont see any people of color. I agree that this looks more like White House staffers than Eagles fans.

(44,576 posts)TMZ: LeBron James says the Cavs and the Warriors are united when it comes to Donald Trump -- "No matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite [to the White House]....It won't be Golden State or Cleveland going."
LeBron...(added)..."I think as long as he's in the office, the communication and things like that is gonna continue to happen. It's a lot of things that we believe in as Americans that we don't feel that he's for."
..."Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up," LeBron (once) tweeted at Trump.
...Steph Curry (of Golden State also) had a few words..."I agree with Bron."

(16,926 posts)Can you imagine the YUGE ORANGE EXPLOSION if at least 1/2 of the crowd had taken a knee at the beginning of "our beautiful, wonderful National Song that celebrates Amurika and patriotism and ME."
PS: Hey IQ45!
You might want to know this for the next time you decide to stage a fake "patriot" thing so you don't look like a total asshole (but seriously, how could you EVER avoid that!):
O beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
