DOJ report gives Trump the ammo he needs for his "deep state" wacko conspiracy theory

Per CNN:

Except that the report also includes an August 2016 text message exchange between FBI lawyer Lisa Page and FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was intimately involved in not only the Clinton email investigation but also the FBI inquiry into Russia interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign.

Here it is: (bolding is mine)

PAGE: "[Trump's] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!"

STRZOK: "No. No he won't. We'll stop it."

Those seven words are what Trump and his allies will seize on -- casting them as definitive proof that the "deep state" not only didn't want him to win but was actively working to keep him from the White House.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Peter Strzok has some 'splain' to do to the FBI Director.

The White House has already seized on it.

During Thursday's press briefing, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said, "The President was briefed on the IG report earlier today and it reaffirmed the president's suspicions about Comey's conduct and the political bias among some of the members of the FBI."

I worked in a professional office for many years. We knew that when we sent emails to each other related to the matters we were working on, we needed to keep it professional, neutral or pro-client, and nothing we'd be embarrassed about, or our employer would find embarrassing, if the client saw the email. We might SAY things to each other...but in an email about something we were working on? Never. We knew that office emails weren't private, and could be seen by someone at some time.

This report is a giant bust for them, which is why some GOP are asking for all early drafts of the report.

Do you remember who? Are they looking for indications that someone changed the report to be not so damaging, you mean?

No doubt they're disappointed that the report didn't give them what they wanted.

that formed the basis of the report.

This is ridiculous, this attacking of the intel agencies. All for the cult leader. Anything for the cult leader.

Re-assuring themselves of the horror we all felt. Clearly wasn't meant to say "We'll" (the American People), "stop it."

intended to benefit Trump, or even evidence that the campaign was involved, so his comment wasn't based on politics but on a genuine concern that Trump could be elected on account of the Russians. That said, of course he shouldn't have expressed his concern in an email.
