All I can do - for now.

I have grown increasingly angry about the abuse of children on the southern border that it being done in my name. Then I started thinking about what Jesus said in Matthew 25 about not doing things for the least of these and it occurred to me that I wasn't doing anything except being angry.

I then wrote a letter to my Congressman and two Senators - all three of whom claim to be Christians - and told them we all risk the wrath of God if we don't do all we can to stop the abuse of children, that all I could do was write my elected representatives, but that they must do more if they want to continue to claim to be Christians.

Mind you, I'll vote against all three of these cretins at every opportunity but in the meanwhile, all I can do is write.

Please, DUers in red districts need to write their Representative and Senators. If they claim to be Christian, threaten eternal damnation.

There is something about being willing to invest in a stamp. I know, it doesn't make sense but at this point very little makes sense.

time, this national emergency, this crisis of democracy, this crisis for thousands of innocent and vulnerable children, would you rather people wait til they've got the goddamned time not to mention a stamp, or would you rather see hundreds and better yet thousands contact their Senators and make their voices known??

I was trying to HELP your effort, and am really steamed that you took it as some sort of detraction from your post.

I am too. I've spent every single day crying about this. Not all day long, but long enough.

It's bad enough what we're doing to these children, but what this all portends has me hysterical. We are at a VERY critical point and your anger is desperately needed. We have to stop this, and we have to get Trump stopped because he's not going to stop himself. We are on THE trajectory so many of us have feared.

So let's just get the job done, however we can.

they won’t miss the massive amounts of letters written. Sheer numbers tell a tale all their own.

I've been told, by the chair of my county Dem committee, that sealed envelopes can be regarded as a safety risk (anthrax, etc), and may be delayed in being read and tabulated. No such problem with postcards. The local party actually holds postcard writing "parties."
