people, including as many as 16 million children, are going hungry every day.
My God, there should be rioting in the streets. I'm talking major civil insurrection here.
I am speechless. I am aghast. All I can say is "What. The. Fuck?"

I simply cannot adequately convey how this Dickensian disparity is getting to me. It's like having my face ground into it. An up-front 'Fuck You' with no shame behind it whatsoever.
Kropotkin's words offer some consolation:
"The spirit of revolt spreads in the masses. The most insignificant circumstance becomes the cause of an outbreak. This has always been the case on the eve of revolutions. A childish game becomes a disturbance, leading to bloodshed; an interference of the police, an armed conflict; meetings become riots, and strikes lead to civil war." (The Spirit of Revolt, 1880.)

(14,180 posts)have been appalled at the current divide in America, especially were he to see some of Los Angeles' dispossessed and homeless. William Blake may have gotten closer to it.
It's not even the 'lack of shame' so much as it is my fellow 99%ers seeming numbness and incapacity to be outraged any longer. Almost as if that 'in your face Fuck You' has become normalized.
But yeah, 'astounding' is another word that comes to mind.

(17,651 posts)I can't figure out how anyone can find him acceptable to vote for.
Someone mentioned Romney's FB page so I went over there and "Liked" the posts disputing the lies but what shocked me most were the 6 or 7 friends who "Liked" Mitt Romney.
A couple of them fit into the idiot value voters and teabag category, the others, well I'm just absolutely SHOCKED. Pure :WTF: moment. I actually thought they were smarter than that, guess I was wrong and values trump logic each and every time for them. Some wallow in the low information voter status like a pig in it's own mud and feces.
Occupy was a good idea and I'm still right there with them but due to disorganization, infiltration and lack of positive media coverage, they've been effectively neutered.
I'm finding myself hoping Romney makes it to their convention and then, let their be chaos as the Ron Paulers or whomever else is hating on Mittens, shred the GOP into shreds.
Now what.

(14,180 posts)the current political system to heal it. Is why I call it 'terminal.' I just don't see any way out of this right now.
Nonetheless, I will be calling my current rep Karen Bass and my future rep Maxine Waters (due to redistricting) tomorrow to demand that they call for investigations in the House. Will also be calling Sens. Boxer and Feinstein to demand they do the same in the Senate. Nothing will be done and I will be left with my outrage. But at least I will have tried.

(14,180 posts)morally. In my opinion, the $100 million tax evasion IRA is worse morally.
My poor wife had to listen to me rant about it all day yesterday, an unpleasant return for her to the days of the Bush Junta. I was down at the boardwalk and ranting about it there too, where I was just another part of the daily freak show. But I was away from my laptop until this a.m. and could post here.
