If nothing else, it is my job to actually be able to speak while I'm on TV.

What I was trying to do -- when I suddenly couldn't say/do anything -- was read this lede:

All from this Associated Press story that broke while I was on the air tonight, but which I was unable to read on the air:

Again, I apologize for losing it there for a moment. Not the way I intended that to go, not by a mile.

It reminded me of watching Walter Cronkite announce that President Kennedy had died.

The rest of it...the horror.

That's really who these people are. They are actually jumping off the cliff. No holds barred. Swastikas are out.

Tonight was a reminder that even the toughest among us (and by "us" I mean those of us who have a soul and a conscience), are horrified by the depravity of this administration.

And tonight Rachel reminded us that "they want this". The outrage and backlash are NOT an unintended consequence of this policy. This is what they were hoping for. It is up to those of us who still give a shit what this country stands for to stop the agony.

Rachel, thank you for doing what you do. Please continue doing it.

I wish I believed in hell and eternal damnation, because each and every person involved in this obscene crime against humanity, and each and every person who approves, it, deserves it.

I hope kharma bites them all bigtime.
