I went to the zoo last week. Saw an Asian rhino. He took off like a bat out

of hell all of a sudden and ran. His back was about 6 feet off the ground. Long legs. He/she was massive. Then i saw a dump truck driving by. That probably set him off. He probably thought it was an interloper and he was going to challenge it.

Went to the gorilla cage. Charles the silverback was lounging around. I was reminded of the story of my 6'5" brother in law visiting the zoo with my sister and their new baby. My sister and the female gorilla compared babies. Then all of a sudden the silverback went nuts and started pounding his chest. Zookeeper told my brother in law to take off his black baseball cap. And then undo his black fleece. Charles the Silverback suddenly looked contemptuous of my brother in law and huffed disappointment. Last week at the gorilla enclosure, kids came along and started yelling Harambe Harambe in a really saucy tweenlike way. And i thought language like that probably doesn't bug most animals at the zoo but I bet the gorillas get the contempt.

Went home and posted online was a video of an orangutang in Borneo fighting for his habitat by attacking the bucket/scoop of a front end loader.

And i think think 'what are we doing to our world?'. And i guess going to the zoo really does teach.
