Chris Hayes is talking to a republican congressman lying about immigrants.

This congressman (sorry didn't catch his name) is pushing the myth of traffickers posing as parents to get into this country. It is a sickness, this need to ascribe nefarious motives to people and to not possess the ability to see the humanity and dignity in people.

These followers of Trump have something missing in them. There is some kind of a hole in them, a space where their own humanity belonged.

understand their basic understanding of what it is to do Journalism. It is what, where, why and how of any story. You do not allow your interview to turn into a filibuster or allow to be rolled by the person your are interviewing.

Had this been Joy Reid- She would have demolished his silly argument that was devoid of fact.

13. I just watched it. I think Hayes does a MUCH better job than Joy.

I guess it is just style. Instead of saying "what you are saying is a lie" as Joy might, Chris says "Can you tell me where you get the evidence for your allegations. I have never heard anything like that." And he keeps on the guy until he makes some vague statement about DHS.

One of the reasons I prefer Chris is Republicans are still willing to go on his show but won't go on Rachel or Joy's shows. I agree, they drive me crazy when I see them on TV but I want to know what their bullshit is. I was attracted to this thread because I have been facebook fighting for 2 days with a cousin who said the same thing as Marshall and I was just like Hayes: WTF. So there is a rumor out there and I'd love to find how it got started and have it exposed. If we don't have the crazy Marshall's of the world talking to someone who questions his BS, I'd just think my cousin got it from the same place she gets pizza parlor sex rings.

and people have to remember when they pull that lever in November for a republican its a vote for trump. Then when Chris repeated his statement in the form of a question he tried to walk it back.

McCarthy was famous for claiming he had a list of x number of "communists", but could never produce it when asked.

Marshall did the same with regard to asylum seekers and when Hayes pressed him, he couldn't provide any proof or examples either.

Just ran across this article on that interview:

GOP Rep Claims 5-Year-Olds Helping Cartels Smuggle Drugs in Off The Rails MSNBC Hit

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes grilled Rep. Dr. Roger Marshall (R-KS) on a series of outlandish claims he made about immigrant children being separated from their families at the border.

“The president’s intention was never to hurt families,” Marshall insisted about the administration’s “zero tolerance” policy. “His intention was national security and border security.”

That did not satisfy Hayes in the least.

“We have interviewed on this network, we’ve interviewed mothers from Guatemala and Honduras whose sons have been killed by drug cartels who have fled 1000 miles north risking everything. Are they a national security threat?” he asked.

“I think that you have to share the rest of the story,” Marshall replied. “The number of families that are posing as families has quadrupled trying to cross our borders. So you’re having people who are doing human trafficking, terrorists, and cartel members.”

“Where is the evidence of that?” Hayes asked pointedly. “I have heard that. Where is evidence of a terrorist using a child to cross a border? I would like to see some evidence of that.”
