Just a few laws he has broken:
Charity fraud - Most regular folks go to jail for this
His fraud University
Foreign Emoluments Clause
Domestic Emoluments Clause
This site lists a number of them: https://www.quora.com/Has-Trump-broken-any-laws-yet
On another note, when they say the families should be separated because the law says so I tell them that Trump caved due to intense political pressure and signed an executive order stopping the practice. So that is the NEW law and since they are so big on laws being enforced they should support the new law that says they should not be separated.

(90,798 posts)Someone breaking the law doesn't mean it's OK to violate human rights or to commit crimes against humanity.
Under Bush, some on the right premised that it doesn't matter what happens to detainees because they were "bad" people.
They were wrong. Egregiously wrong.
Trump calls those seeking entry at the border "bad" people. Many idiots agree with him.
They are wrong now. (again)
Trump is a bad person in thought and in deed.
Still wouldn't torture him. Still wouldn't deny him his human rights.
Trump followers don't care that he has broken the law. They don't care that he is abusing the human rights of people now.
Because in their eyes, "bad" people get what they deserve - and Trump isn't bad (to their thinking) but infants with brown skin are bad. (again, to their thinking)
One of the other premises (by the right) for excusing torture and abuse under Bush was the people being tortured weren't Americans.
The people on the border aren't Americans either.
But Trump is - and his followers will say it's different, even if he is breaking the law, because he's American!
Because of the same old bullshit lie they told when Bush was torturing people - non-citizens aren't entitled to rights under our laws.
But the BOR applies to all within our borders/territories. And even on foreign soil, a U.S. citizen is subject to our laws if they commit torture or other abuses of human rights.
Recall how Palin ranted about people being concerned about the rights of people not even citizens and being more concerned about terrorists than Americans?
You'll note they are using the same talking point, only switching out some words.
Trump and Ryan both declaring that: Democrats are more concerned about open borders than they are about crime. More worried about the rights of those being detained at the border than criminals coming into America.
It's almost the same playbook as before under Bush (to excuse torture), now they are using it to excuse the human rights violations at the border.

(51,075 posts)point out whiny donnie's racketeering, but also be certain that they don't get away from you without understanding that immigrants do not increase crime, and often when the immigrant population in an area increases, the crime rate decreases. They are more law-abiding than those who were born here.
