This is how I interpret it: "I know that you know the answer to that question. And I know that you know that I know that you're just putting up an American Kabuki Dance for Trump supporters. Our country is not safe because you will use those documents to forewarn your co-conspirators."

(253 posts)Because if the language in quotes is Rosensteinss exact testimony, then he is unequivocally, and under oath, accusing the congress member who was asking the question of CONSPIRACY TO OBSTRUCT JUSTICE.
BTW, just who was this congress member?

(5,210 posts)At LEAST he appears to be hewing to the whole notion of law and order.
At LEAST he appears to be putting country before party, as he's supposed to do in that position or really any public service position.
I give him HUGE props for all that. Huge.

(115,858 posts)It is not reasonable to assume that he is, in fact, a right-wing conservative or that he will conduct his investigation in a politically biased way. So far he does not seem to be doing that.

(36,518 posts)Nice smack down, by Resenstein. I saw an interview of him back when he first got put in this position & he was very reasonable, articulate, & I felt, concerned about justice. Not the kind of GOP the GOP wants anymore.

(2,050 posts)He's a law and order man, he isn't going to let them walk all over him period.
He knows that to get this stain on our country revealed is paramount and the most important thing he'll ever do
Back in the day on the crab boats we had a written in stone rule, never get into a fight with another crew member that involved fists.
But we could have a "Fuck You Fight"
Words only, never take a swing.
When you hit the dock a different story, they haven't got to the dock yet.

(5,737 posts)Rosenstein's right hand was fidgeting and tapping. His face showed little emotion (don't play poker with this man!), but his subtle hand movements were the equivalent of making a fist and just waiting until they hit the dock!
There was a documentary on Rosenstein recently, and I was extremely impressed. Rosenstein is more than a member of a political party - he is a man of high honor and also courage. He has ideals. He is the antithesis of the current president, and he will see his duty as far as he needs to go. The current president made a huge mistake when he tried to use Rosenstein to justify his firing of Comey, possibly undermining a long career that had earned the respect of both sides of the aisle. This man will not be played for a fool!
Rosenstein deserves our support in any way of which we are capable.

(21,802 posts)You have got to figure Rosenstein knows a lot about the investigation and where it is going. He doesn't want to be involved in sabotaging an inevitable outcome.
I suspect a lot more than the Usual Suspects will be going down. I think there MUST be wide spread corruption among the GOP and their donors.
The widespread resignations are roaches fleeing the light.
I also believe Kennedy's resignation is because he would have to recuse himself from decisions regarding Trump's status, because his sons are so embedded with rich Republican traitors.
