How confident are you that Mueller will be able to nail Trump?

I am not taking about facts/evidence.

But overcoming the Obstacles that Trump/Republicans will present including refusing to appear before a Grand Jury

Michael Cohen can sing like Celine Dion if he wants to .. but absent a political will to bring Trump to Justice - How confident are you?

everybody around Trump with multiple counts of obstruction of justice, abuse of power, conspiracy against the United States and more.

And, he will probably have a long list of potential charges against Herr Trump, but I'm afraid it might amount to nothing if Congress does nothing about it.

For the most part Mueller is going to release his report and then be interviewed by congress.

Also, how much has he given to state prosecutors?

It is not entirely clear what Mueller can actually do. I do know that if it is true that a president cannot be indicted and it is going to take the current republican congress to act I have zero confidence.

being ABLE to USE it to "nail" Trump...

I think, given the circumstances, if anyone can do so, it is Mueller. But damn, he has to fight the entire R party and as many as 30% of the American people to bring about impeachment. Indictment, sans, impeachment is nearly insurmountable in Federal court, given the retirement of Kennedy...

Still, I hold some hope...

Mueller doesn't lose, and this is personal to him. Trump attacked an organization he cares very much about and has spent his life serving. Trump betrayed his country to the Russians, the people who aided the enemy he fought in Vietnam.

He will get Don in the end. Mark my words.

I worked for government for 30 years and am very protective of the agency were I worked. I respect the people I worked with and have friends who are still there. Additionally, it did a great job and I wouldn't have stayed if I did not think so. Although I have moved on, don't even think about criticizing the agency I worked for. Think momma bear. I would take it personally as you argue Mueller has.

Hold the Republican House, the Republican Senate, the Republican Supreme Court, and 'revolution' if necessary - rw political will v. other political wills. Mueller's case against trump is just there. [Too soon to estimate].

1. Trump is forced from office, gets a pardon from Pence and he starts his own cable channel to grift his supporters and complain how he was set up by the deep state.

2. He flees the country and asks for asylum in Russia.

I prefer option 2, but option 1 is more likely.

You would need Mueller to first find something on Trump. Then, you would need the house to draft articles of impeachment. Then, you would need the Senate to actually impeach him.

Neither the Republicans or Democrats want to impeach Trump. There is no chance an impeachment resolution would even make it to the Senate. I doubt Trump is even on Mueller’s radar. Instead, Mueller will go after members of Trump’s administration, imo. That’s as far as it goes.

Remember that you need a 2/3 Senate vote to impeach Trump. He could murder someone, and you still wouldn’t get that in this current atmosphere.

I would worry about getting Democrats in office instead. That’s more important right now.

It all depends on the GOP members of Congress and if they are willing to put country over party. It also depends on whether Pence is involved enough to be indicted and, if so, whether the Speaker of the House will forego a pardon if he or she is installed as POTUS. My worst nightmare is Nancy Pelosi being sworn in as POTUS and pulling a Gerald Ford "for the sake of the country." Lock him up!

His power extends only to the exposure, analysis, summarization, and presentation of facts that others can/should use to nail the sleazy blob.

I have great confidence in him doing that superbly and abundantly.

Alas, however-- just because the ordnance is fully loaded doesn't mean it will be deployed and fired.

on whether Trump gains the confidence of the financial elite or not.

If he doesn't, Mueller will back up the dump truck and pour all of Trump's own shit on his administration.

If Trump does earn their trust, Mueller will putter along indefinitely, just to keep Trump in line, but the wheels will never touch the ground.
