(11,175 posts)Four endorsements drew flak. Two were rescinded.
From the article you linked:
All four women have challenged what they see as the political machine that runs the state.
. . . .
As a rule, parties almost always support incumbents, which is one reason why the slate of endorsements sparked uproar when it was announced earlier this week, including from elected Democrats in the state.
So the best we can say is that the Rhode Island Democratic Party has come halfway to its senses.

(11,175 posts)I do know that, in at least one thread where people were getting all enthusiastic about the challenger who's primarying Tulsi Gabbard, there were no posts from the never-any-primary-ever-or-at-least-not-until-Trump-is-gone crowd.
It's not inconsistent for someone to support such a primary challenge (against Tulsi or the Rhode Island legislators) on the basis that the challenger is better. What is inconsistent is for people to say that there's a supposedly general principle (don't waste money and effort on primaries because we must prioritize fighting Republicans), but then apply that supposedly general principle only when the primary challenge comes from the left.

This is a complete outrage. They are still refusing to endorse competent, progressive, DEMOCRATS who have proved they can win.

(58,785 posts)spavined cow if they thought it had the best chance of winning. Walsh didn't want the party's support, and note that she specifically asked her supporters to donate to candidates her state party opposes.
Who's the big opponent here? The Democratic Party or the Republican?
These children NEED to be with their families. If we don't get control of congress, some may not see them again. Ever.
Frankly there're clearly way too many bad choices and screwing up going on in RI. It's pretty pathetic if a Trump supporter can seem the party's best option to fight the Republicans with, but I would vote for a spavined cow gladly if it gave us another seat in congress.
