Liberal supreme court justices Ginsberg, Breyer, Sotomeyer, and Kagan replaced liberal justices.

White,Blackmun,Souter, and Stevens were highly liberal justices.
When justice Scalia died, Republican US Senators blocked Obama from picking Scalia's replacement because Scalia was a highly conservative justice and they wanted a highly conservative justice to succeed Scalia.
When Democrats regain control of the US Senate in 2019 and Ginsberg steps down. Schumer-D should keep the Ginsberg seat VACANT until the next POTUS- hopefully a Democrat is inaugurated.

The RBG seat is the fight we must win. I'd much prefer to let Kavanaugh through so it's not a boy who cried wolf scenario when it's truly life and death.

I'd settle for Merrick Garland from a GOP president for the RBG seat.

The Republicans prevented Obama from appointing a Supreme Court seat that became vacant during his term.

The Republicans cheated.

The Republicans cheated.

The Republicans cheated.

Now they want to maintain a balance of conservatives and liberals on the Court that they artificially created.

The Republicans cheated.

The Constitution does not require that the number of conservatives and liberals on the Court remain constant.

The Republicans cheated.

It certainly wasn't her. She has said she is NOT going to retire anytime soon. She knows what is at stake and has made it very clean that she is not going to vacate and give trmp another seat to fill.

Even if the Dems have control of the Senate (which is a long shot, but is the best outcome we can hope for), and they allow Trump to appoint someone, it'll be a compromise candidate.
