The Founder Of Papa John's Has Resigned After Using The N-Word In A Conference Call

Papa John's founder John Schnatter resigned as chairman of the pizza company's board of directors Wednesday following reports that he had used the n-word during a conference call earlier this year.

The company announced Schnatter's resignation Wednesday evening in a statement, saying that a new chairman would be appointed in the coming weeks.

The resignation came hours after reports, confirmed by BuzzFeed News, that Schnatter had used the n-word during a conference call in May. The call was intended as a public relations training exercise for Schnatter after he faced backlash last year for saying NFL players who kneel during the national anthem were hurting pizza sales.

When they were new to L.A., and I had a coupon. Didn't like the choice of toppings, so I didn't buy.

Several years later, a buddy brought one of their pizzas to dinner, so I tried it. Once was enough. Almost every independent place I've tried across the country has been better

Guess he couldn’t even make it through a training exercise without being a full blown racist. WTH is this guy like in real life? Jeez Louise.

He may have "resigned" but many franchises will be hurt by this latest revelation and some will even close. I'm not sure the brand will ever truly recover.

Shitty pizza, shitty executive and so it goes.

I'm sure he'll cry himself to sleep in his 60,000-square foot house tonight.

Now he will have more freedom to use his billion dollars and influence to support the Republicans racist base.
