That is being foisted upon this country.
Elections arent going to magically fix the damage that has been done to the judiciary that was the direct cause of a sham election.
Somehow there will have to be some sort of reset to undo everything this traitor tot has done.
We will have to take to the streets and demand that something extraordinary be enacted to mitigate the fact that the will of the people was circumvented by a hostile power and enabled by one party.

(26,045 posts)...and think the odds of that succeeding are less than that of the U.S. morphing into permanent Putinesque strongman rule...with, possibly, the rest of the world to follow.

(51,642 posts)will give this country to Putin, and do so willingly. This is a national crisis and half the country is a group of willingly hateful, bigoted, immoral and greedy idiots. To call them "deplorable" is a compliment. Hillary was too kind! The gloves are off, no taking the fucking high road (that was never my style and never will be...you fight fire with fire and do it NOW!!!).

(36,540 posts)For three decades dem leadership has been too mild in its response to the GOP lies & misrepresentations. Now there is an entire TV station devoted to right wing propaganda & a huge number of local TV stations are about to be bought by Sinclair, so the rw message will infect the nightly news, even if you don't have cable. The right has totally captured the narrative & the air waves. Social media can be a tool to fight, but again, the left is behind the 8-ball, reacting to Russian bots, etc. People don't want to admit the dems dropped the ball, but they did. Big time. When I was a kid they were the smart party. But in 2000, the other team threw the rule book in the trash with Bush v Gore & the dems kept playing by that book. They were played. Like it or not, the dems look weak. Agree with it or not, they deserve it. I hope the new generation of dems is ready to come out fighting & swinging, cuz this ain't your father's political environment.

(1,262 posts)Here are (IMO) the top three:
1. The Senate with each state having two votes. Wyoming, with fewer than 600,000 people, has the same voting power in the Senate as California, which has a population of more than 39,000,000.
2. The Electoral College - needs no further explanation. The outcomes of Presidential Elections got gamed in 2000 and 2016 because of the EC.
3. The Constitutions requirements to amending itself makes it extremely hard to do it.

(3,784 posts)..........willing to roll over and blatantly prop up a corrupt President. The system of checks and balances relies on the 3 branches keeping each other in check. When all 3 conspire with each other, our constitutional democracy is dead.
