I just looked up what Sikh's believe and it sounds like a wonderful loving, peaceful religion

1) One Source One God is the Creator of the Universe 2) Equality All human beings are equal People of all religions and races are welcome in Sikh Gurdwaras Women have equal status with men in religious services and ceremonies 3) Human Life Precious Above Other Life The human life is supreme and it is through this life that we can achieve oneness with God's will. Finding God in this life and living by his commands helps us to attain God's mercy. 4) Defending Against Injustice Sikhs are a peace loving people and stand for Truth and Justice Guru Gobind Singh Ji said, "It is right to use force as a last resort when all other peaceful means fail."

Sikhs make up 10–15% of all ranks in the Indian Army and 20% of its officers,[60] while Sikhs form only 1.87% of the Indian population, which makes them over 10 times more likely to be a soldier and officer in the Indian Army than the average Indian.[61] The Sikh Regiment is one of the most highly decorated and is believed to be the most courageous, powerful and skilled regiment of the Indian Army,[62] with 73 Battle Honours, 14 Victoria Crosses,[63] 21 first class Indian Order of Merit (equivalent to the Victoria Cross),[64] 15 Theatre Honours and 5 COAS Unit Citations besides 2 Param Vir Chakras, 14 Maha Vir Chakras, 5 Kirti Chakras, 67 Vir Chakras and 1596 other gallantry awards. The highest-ranking General in the history of the Indian Air Force is a Punjabi Sikh Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh.[65] Advanced plans by the MOD to raise an Infantry UK Sikh Regiment were scrapped in June 2007 to the disappointment of the UK Sikh community and Prince Charles of Britain.[66]

The morning of the tragedy at the Sikh temple the two anchors (Don and Rob) on CNN actually did a good job. They would not allow themselves to be drawn into any conspiracy theories or call the shooter a racist, white supremacist until it was confirmed.

They also gave a lot of time to Sikhs and asked their religious leaders to explain the tenants of their faith to all us viewers who were mostly ignorant about their faith.

In unfortunate circumstances the reporting was very professional. A bit of a departure from some of the sensationalist media we get these days.

If it destroyed only evil it wouldn't be Evil.

At the expense of sounding flippant: Page had nowhere else to go.

their adherents mostly do their own thing, and rationalize how such arbitrariness 'makes sense' and conforms to the principles of their religion.

For example, how many Christians do you know who hate their gay neighbors, rather than 'love thy neighbor'?
