Embracing Sheldon Adelson
By THOMAS B. EDSAL
.....................
Adelson and his company are under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice on allegations of foreign bribery. In addition, the United States Attorneys office in Los Angeles is investigating whether Adelsons Las Vegas Sands Corporation failed to alert authorities to millions of dollars transferred to casinos in violation of money-laundering laws, the Wall Street Journal reported on August 4.
......................
There is a succinct answer to the question of why Romney would take the risk of closely associating himself with the immensely controversial Adelson: 10 million dollars the amount Adelson and his wife have contributed to the super Pac supporting Romney, Restore Our Future.
The Adelsons are the largest donors to the Romney PAC. They have providing just over 12 percent of the $82.2 million Restore Our Future has raised so far

(5,756 posts)No spine and certainly no real principles one can detect. Just self-serving, egomaniacal desire to win the one last title and race he hasn't won. CEO of the free world as President of the USA.
Why is it I think Mitt has daddy issues and/or his penis must be a "inney?"

(21,786 posts)but individual Mormons have never been averse to making a buck off of it. See for instance Howard Hughes hiring Mormons to run his Vegas casinos.

(793 posts)But after seeing Mr. Mitt unless Hughes could take deal with the flip-flop, well. I got to think that if the same thing happened today Hughes might not do the same.
I also wonder if those same LDS folks who also worked for Hughes, as I heard invested in Bain and some lost a lot of money and might have mentioned to Harry Reid about Mr. Mitt in Temple.

(9,033 posts)Mormons aren't averse to making money off of anything; it is what they do. After all, material success is a sign of blessedness and if a man accumulates enough wealth in this life, he gets to be god of his own planet in the next. I don't doubt that that's where Mittens thinks he's headed.

(7,044 posts)Few decent Americans are fooled. We all see how degraded and perverted Republican's so-called "family values" are. That is why Republicans deserve and get no respect: their scuzzbucket skanky hypocritical bullshit "values."

I know a now deceased attorney who made a fantastic living out of gambling bankruptcies. People need to see some figures on the depredations of gambling.
What more perfect proof of class-warfare does anyone need than Adelson the gambling pusher financing Republicans?
