‘I want him to fix it’: Trump voters sorry now that tariffs are killing their Missouri nail factory

Mid-Continent Nail operations manager Chris Pratt

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/07/want-fix-trump-voters-sorry-now-tariffs-killing-missouri-nail-factory/

During an interview with MSNBC, Mid-Continent Nail operations manager Chris Pratt revealed that he has already laid off 60 workers from his plant — and he warned that more jobs were at risk due to Trump’s trade wars.

“We should be thriving,” he said. “We were doing pretty good. But now, it’s like he flipped the light switch off, and it’s all because of tariffs.”

Jimmie Coffer, a machine operator at the plant, told MSNBC that he voted for Trump in 2016 because he wanted to see “change” in Washington. Now, however, he worries that Trump’s trade wars will cost him his job.

“I understand why he’s doing it,” he said. “It’s hurting us. It’s hurting us real bad here.”

1950's neo-economics on same level as the neoconservatives who thought the answer was simple for middle east problems, just force democracy on the countries by war or whatever.

we know how that worked out, same with trade wars

If you did, you'd be writing your doctoral thesis instead of learning how to fill out welfare forms.

There is one reason and one reason only that I have no sympathy for these people and their impending (or present) economic hardship. That reason is that, given everything they now, they would STILL vote for Trump over Hillary Clinton. I say thus, that they should get what they voted for.

Your success wasn't overwhelming, in your eyes, according to the words you were being told, on television, on the radio, in church, among friends, at the family table. You know, the right wing echo chamber. After the Bush debacle, you should have known better. But the President was a Democrat, and a black man at that.

"Sure, our business is booming, but growth is TOO SLOW". How many times did you pitifully whine those words? I guess Obama didn't know what he was doing, but you did, right?

Eat. Shit. And. Die. Mothahfucker.

You're the imbecile that foisted this Stephen King Clown President on us. You and your faux indignation. You and your outrage at things you can't even explain, like Hillary's emails, her server, Benghazi. Well, now you can't explain Trump, but you pretend you can. At least you're consistent in the areas of stupidity and cluelessness.

Save those last nails for your own coffin, sir. You dug this grave. Now seal yourself in it, and shut the fuck up.

They were ready made suckers for the ridiculous Fox News stories about Hillary Clinton and were sold a bill of goods that they needed "change" that they really didn't need at all. They already had jobs and health care through their jobs, so how did they celebrate this good fortune? They complained that "they didn't want to pay for someone else's health care". Problem is, when they stepped on to the stage and joined the chants to lock up an innocent person they stepped on to a very slippery slope for themselves, given that the only thing they know how to do is make nails. They don't understand "why he is doing it". They don't understand shit. They didn't understand when Trump was reciting to them the parable of the snake, who the snake really was that he was referring to, and that they were about to get eaten. I don't have any feeling for them. I didn't then and I don't now, they are gettng what they deserve. Let them delight in the separation migrant children from their mothers at the border, without a their paycheck.

provide a carve out. Just for them. They claim to understand the 'why' of the policy (which in reality makes no sense). But they don't want to be hurt by the policy, as in lose their jobs because the demand for an overtaxed product lis losing its market share to . . . Mexico, China and South Korea. Bitter irony there.

Hello? The Trumpster is just not in to you, guys. Never was, never will be.

Trumpster farmers and ranchers hurt by the tariffs have pretty much expressed the same thing.

Guess they didn't get the memo: They're suppose to suck it up, all for Trumpster love and self-destructive loyalty.

Good luck with that!

My suggestion? Come back to the light, help us fight this moron and his nonsense economic plans. We'll all be better off for the effort.

You know, the if only the parents would pay the kids wouldn't be singled out and shamed at school.

I wonder how many of them enjoy talking about "welfare queens"?

I wonder how many of them like to brag - albeit always with bitterness - that - No one gave me anything. I earned it all myself?

I wonder how many of them have said that if people want to eat then they should work instead of getting a "handout"?

I wonder how many of them have said they are tired of paying for the lazy people?

I wonder how many of them have said they are tired of immigrants taking their jobs?

I wonder if they can make the connection between their ignorance and prejudices causing them to vote against their own needs and interests?

as a special exemption and a handout. They'd think they deserved it above others. They would stop complaining, stop asking questions, praise Trump - and then tell other people in the exact same straits to suck it up and shut up about it.

They won't learn from this. Not even if they all lose their jobs. It will somehow be the fault of others.
