Beto O'Rourke goes ALL-IN: "I'd Impeach Trump"

https://www.newsweek.com/beto-orourke-impeach-trump-ted-cruz-1029134

President Donald Trump deserves to face impeachment for seeming to side with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a joint press conference on Monday, said Beto O'Rourke, a Democratic congressman who is campaigning for Ted Cruz's Texas Senate seat.

"Standing on stage in another country with the leader of another country who wants to and has sought to undermine this country, and to side with him over the United States—if I were asked to vote on this, I would vote to impeach the president," said O'Rourke on Tuesday, according to The Dallas Morning News.

"Impeachment, much like an indictment, shows that there is enough there for the case to proceed,” he continued, “And at this point there is certainly enough there for the case to proceed."

O’Rourke also slammed his opponent Cruz for not criticizing Trump for taking Putin’s word.

This isn't a referendum on Trump... It's now a referendum on preserving our Democracy and who's going to actually stand up and do something.

Oh and wait... his poll numbers keep improving.

"If I were to vote on this, I would vote to impeach the president," O'Rourke said in response to a question. "Impeachment, much like an indictment, shows that there is enough there for the case to proceed and at this point there is certainly enough there for the case to proceed."

And this, people, is exactly how you set up the case for impeachment. With calm, simple and confident logic.

But then, oh noes... the Republicans "pounced" on him (like they always do -- they attack our strengths, which is the truth in this case)

The Cruz campaign pounced on the remark later in the day.

"Rep. Beto O'Rourke is so radical and reckless that he is unfit to serve in the U.S. Senate," said Cruz campaign spokesman Emily Miller. "O'Rourke's extremist views on impeaching the President of the United States put him in the fringe of the liberal movement -- even to the left of Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. His calls for impeachment may win him big donors in Hollywood, but it doesn't reflect the reasonable views of the vast majority of Texans."

You see what they did there? What they always do:

-Make the "wild-eyed liberal" association
-Called Beto "extreme" (trying to make Cruz sound like the reasonable one)
-Bring up Nancy Pelosi

Now this is the part where the Democrats usually back down. Like when we said they get bitter and they cling to guns or religion or when they were described as a basket of deplorables (all true assessments). Then there's an apology, a clarification, and an attempt to make nice. What I like about Beto is that he isn't doing that. He's sticking by his comments. He's using the Republicans tactics against them because what's hurting him is his lack of name recognition and the Republican attack on his call for impeachment is bringing him exactly what he needs. Everywhere he goes, when people hear him, they can't help but like him. But more people need to find out who he is (he just opened a new office in San Antonio, which is a good sign).

Also, he is doing a pretty good job of explaining why impeachment is a necessary and proscribed remedy for the chaos the Russian hijacking of our democracy has caused.

And I hope he continues against trump , like why did trump knowingly agree with putin on his offer to let him infiltrate the investigation in any way when he already knows putin did it, which knowingly doing that is treason, and will expose how they got all the information on all his agents , and all their sources. Isn't that treason enough to remove him ASAP now? He admitted on TV he liked it too, allowing the criminal to be included with the investigation , and to use to undermine it. Hope Beto shouts this out why aren't ted cruz and others republicans demanding he resign ? Is Ted involved too? Beto knows others are. trump is working for putin and openly admitted it. Cruz is helping trump by doing and saying nothing , and did he like others receive money from putin too?

Beto wouldn't be able to vote to impeach trump if he won the Senate seat. The House impeaches. The Senate votes to have a trial. Bill Clinton was impeached by the House. The Senate voted to not try him.

Impeachment of the President, absent chargeable crimes identifiable by Mueller, will fail and make things worse. Add to which, time spent on Impeachment will be time not spent on economic policies that voters care about, risking re-election in 2020.

before impeachment can happen. Not one fascist would help. One tactic may work, the JD pressuring the fascists like they did during Watergate, use the ol Unindicted co-conspirator threat for tRump.

Any other support, since I'm not in Texas, would be meaningless.

As for "replacing" my support, if he doesn't need my money, there's there's more for the other candidates who don't believe in damaging the Democratic Party's prospects in 2020.

He's extremely unpopular, so attacking the King of the Doofuses is EXACTLY what Dems need to do, and calling for his impeachment is EXACTLY the correct (and right) thing to do. I'm sick of weak-kneed Dems; we need more spitfires like Beto!
