I saw this on Facebook today and was surprised I'd never before heard of it.
Let's pray, shall we?
Robert "Budd" Dwyer was the Treasurer of Pennsylvania from 1981 to 1987 when he was accused of receiving a bribe in exchange for over-withholding taxes on every state employee's income. So while his trial was being played on live television, he pulled a revolver out of a manila envelope, put it in his mouth, and pulled the trigger. Millions of people saw it.

What an awful example of a human cornered and desperate. The man was done wrong.
But, I think it's important to always say, "He was innocent" whenever discussing him.

(12,153 posts)7. I'm ashamed to admit
that I was being sarcastic when I said let's pray nothing like this ever happens again. Anyway, I'd much rather see trump land in prison.
