A Thought Piece

Maria Butina came to the US as a “gun activist” and founder of a “gun rights” group in Russia (Butina told the Senate Intelligence Committee in April, 2018 that Konstantin Nikolaev provided funding for a gun rights group she represented.) to affiliate with the NRA under the aegis of now sanctioned Alex Torshin about six or seven years ago, when she was about twenty two years old. Of course, there is no such thing as a "pro-gun rights group in Russia." There is no "pro-gun rights" movement in Russia. It's a facade largely intended to act as seemingly plausible conduit for Russian mob/Kremlin money to the GOP through the NRA. She was also grad student that could afford to travel between Russia and the US frequently. Now, no doubt, the conservative Christians found her demure and the long hair reassuring. And, the conservative politicians licked their collective chops at her youth and red hair. No doubt, they said, a “fine piece of ass” as dRump once told Howard Stern about ivanKA. Stupidly, they were probably facing a graduate of the KGB/FSB “swallow” school, a user of sexual blackmail and compromise, and a trained intelligence officer. Recently, she (now twenty nine) was (unhappily it seems - womp womp) cohabitating with a fifty four year old man from South Dakota who she used to gain introductions to bigger fish that he.

In all likelihood, she attracted the old men to her like moths to a flame, people like Wayne LaPierre, Rick Santorum, Scott Walker (there are pictures). As she did so, she was able to put the old men in compromising positions and her handlers then took over the kompromat/compromising matters and ran with it. I doubt she ever did the blackmailing herself and kept the old men panting after her.

Now it seems, the intelligence services/DOJ can’t charge her with spying, but they took the next best step and charged her with being an unregistered foreign agent. Russia (Putin and Foreign Minister Lavorov) wants her back, now. That’s too bad, unless dRump pardons her and sends her back to Mother Russia as a party favor for Putin.

This piece is of some facts, a very little knowledge of tradecraft , and a great deal of conjecture, but also an unfortunate knowing a bit of human foibles and even less left to the imagination.

any firearm is illegal to own by private citizens, only police and military own guns. it’s almost if putin knows america better than we do, he knows that our obsession with guns can kill us from within.
