Police Officer kicked pregnant woman in the stomach
North Miami Beach police officer has been arrested after allegedly kicking a woman who was eight months pregnant, police said. Officer Ambar Pacheco, 26, is charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim, according to the arrest report filed in the case.
It was the result of an apparent dispute involving Pacheco, her sister, the 27-year-old pregnant woman, and the womans boyfriend, according to the police report. Pacheco -- who was off-duty when the incident occurred -- told investigators the pregnant womans boyfriend kicked her (Pachecos) sister in the face so Pacheco, saw red and beat the [expletive] out of her, the report stated.
Pacheco later told officers she, kicked somebody, but, doesnt know who, police said.
The pregnant woman told investigators Pacheco struck her in the stomach and that she felt contractions, the report said.
The victim was transported to Mount Sinai hospital, said Miami Beach Police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez. The womans due date was Aug. 4, but she gave birth at the hospital where she was taken after the dispute. At last check, she delivered a healthy baby.
Pacheco has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of an investigation.
