Take a hike, Ms. Mitchell. We're a big tent with room for everybody from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Conor Lamb, from Joe Manchin to Kamala Harris.

(12,688 posts)She doesn't care for the Religious Reich, because the majority of them are so eagerly uncouth and just a bit too huckster new money.
The democrats are the party of uppity servants and artists, so anything she can do to depress their vote is what she'll do.

NO REASON to be vulgar, imo.

(44,261 posts)From the MSM. It is a standard narrative they use to generate drama for ratings. The higher the ratings, the more money they can charge for ads.
Democrats are more united than ever regarding liberal/progressive policy goals and helping our fellow Americans. There is very little daylight between our 2018 candidates on policy. A little navel gazing and a little squabbling over strategy at DU is not reflective of where Democrats are. We arent divided.

(10,848 posts)I see a coalition moving in the same direction into November. There are exceptions, of course, and they will be remembered. But for the most part, we have members on the Democratic left, right and center, we're picking up independents and moderate Republicans (particularly women), all of whom recognize the true danger of the Trumpster and his enablers. These are all people who want to preserve the Republic before we enter into intra- and inter-party squabbles over . . . whatever.
The headlines to the contrary tend to muddy the waters. We have a damn good shot this cycle. Let's not blow it or let an Andrea Mitchell dismiss the opportunity.
Btw, my autocorrect always wants to turn you name to--Squelch.

(51,075 posts)the divisive threads for the last few weeks have been met with a lot of, "shut up and go away, nothing matters but the D" replies. Which is heartening.
I have a friend named Gerry. Spell check always wants to name him "Germy."

(42,862 posts)Andrea should know better. There will always be a kooky fringe element to ANY party, and it's a mistake to let those people define the entire party or to assume that their personal anger and divisiveness indicates that the entire party is divided.

No GOP split there? No stories about that? Hmmm...

Dems are not divided and is united. GOPers know this and will do their best to tell us otherwise. In the meantime, seems like it's the GOPs that are in disarray.

(6,139 posts)this is largerly a made up narrative originating from RW and its purpose is do undermine 2018 elections. There arent any significant tensions between Cortez wing and the rest of democrats, we agree on at least 90+% of the issues. The label alone is not sufficient to divide. The question media should be asking, what is the difference between Cortez and senior dems when it comes to issues?

factions in a political party. The Democrats are winning with red-state moderates and blue-state progressives! Andrea Mitchel has enough experience to know this - maybe she meant Republicans are divided? They have some serious division problems. Please send this thread to Andrea Mitchell, so she can make the correction.

(32,099 posts)If you want to see "divided," Mrs. Greenspan, I suggest you take a look at your own party. The GOP, what is left of it, is more divided than ever. ut, we all know you won't.
