Sen. Merkley goes there: "If you worked with a hostile foreign power...it's called TREASON"

For those who can't see tweets, Sen. Merkley tweeted this to Trump in response to his "Collusion is not a crime" tweet:

Let’s be 1000% clear: if you worked with a hostile foreign power during your election, it's called TREASON.

and all dems and media should stop refering to it as collusion but only as treason or conspiracy to defraud US government. We must use legal terminology.

. . .by PINO is a classic case of protesting too much.

Collusion is not a crime, but there wasn't any collusion anyway and "waaaahhhh".

If one has to make both points in the same tweet, one is protesting far too much.

IMHO this had been going on for a while. Whether it was Carter Page, Roger Stone or whoever. These type of high level meetings just do not occur unless one or both sides are absolutely stupid. Oh....wait.

And in a similar vein, let's stop referring to Russian "meddling". They penetrated and launched a successful, multi-pronged cyber attack on our electoral system. Basically an act of cyber war.

It is easier to fool people than it is to convince people they have been fooled.

Sarcasm On,

Yes, I been lied to but it pisses off liberals; so there. Sarcasm off.

Every lynch mob finally comes to their senses. When, finally, Cult45ers can't swallow lies any more; they will turn on DEER LEEDER. Sadly so much harm will have been completed by the mob.

But in the end, NO amnesty, no pardons. Hold _ALL_ Cult45ers accountable and responsible!

but, they attacked the US election systems while conspiring with Trump. We technically had not been at war with Japan when they attacked Pearl Harbor, but if somebody had betrayed the US on behalf of Japan that morning, I would think most would consider that treason, no?

Even the Rosenbergs weren't charged with it, as we weren't at war with the USSR. Technically impossible.

the correct word is "Espionage".

Sorry to be a pedant

I even got a conservative to back down when the want off on Jane Fonda on this. No war=no treason; hasn't been POSSIBLE since VJ day.

A cyber attack, but an attack nonetheless. I’m no expert but it sure seems like treason to me. With a side of aid and comfort to the enemy.

Granted, that’s just the talk. But it’s now on TV and cable, and it isn’t just one isolated voice. It’s becoming a more common reference. And I suspect it’s one of those situations in which - if it’s being talked about openly, others are thinking it. Perhaps many others. Growing by the day.

they'll have a point. Right about the time that they are given the power to confirm supreme court justices

words mean things- just because the current administration thinks they can redefine shit as they wish doesn't make it true.

"Treason" is *VERY* specifically spelled out in the Constitution. In fact it's the only crime so treated. I take deep objection to anyone, on right or left, redefining words; for the past 50 years the right has bloviated, ignorantly, that anything they consider harmful to the country is 'treason'; they are wrong, and anyone, not matter how pure their intentions and solid their progressive credentials who misuses that word is either ignorant or a willful idiot, IMHO.

Requires declaration of war, which hasn't happened since Pearl Harbor.

And some doggone high-octane projection, too.
