Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa. Im very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy.

(8,445 posts)How stupid does someone have to be to take a baby to one of those things? And "mom" has her fingers digging in to the poor little guy's chest. And it looks like he's on the 11th hour of a 12-hour diaper.
Still, not surprising.

(182,829 posts)When we were pregnant 13 years ago - Oh God! She's a teenager - we went to have the sonogram. The tech comes in to get the images then the Doc comes in. She says "She's going to a pretty little girl". I laughed, "I appreciate that but I'm sure you say that all the time" Doc, "No, I don't".
She went on the explain that she had learned early on that she needed a heads up from the techs before she went into see the prospective parents. They have a system of hand signals so she knows what to expect. The Doc said she'd had some cringe moments.
So I asked, "How can you tell?"

(8,200 posts)The sad fact is that most of these people's children will grow up to be just as ignorant and filled with hatred as their parents. I spent my early years in the South and watched it happen. The parents raise these children in a household that is dedicated to racism and hatred and they soon learn that acceptance is predicated on adopting the same attitudes. Its driven by a desire to be accepted and belong. Anyone who doesn't share their prejudices is totally ostracized. This is especially true in the churches and schools which foster this behavior. If you don't share their hatred of Democrats as immoral, un-Americans you will quickly find that you will be the subject of the same hatred they have for anyone who doesn't support their prejudices.

(5,275 posts)These crazed righties are dangerous, so reminiscent of early Nazi gatherings/rallies in the early 1930s in Germany. I blame this situation on 20+ years of Fox News/ Right Wing Radio propoganda enabled by Reagan doing away with the long standing Fairness Doctrine late in his 2nd term.

(1,979 posts)I got a robo call last week from 45's daughter in law offering free tickets. I tried to stay on the line to either have a few words with a live person about what I thought about this gathering of fools, but they had it set up where the only thing you could do was enter your phone number to accept the free tickets and then the call ended. I have NO idea how they got my number but I'm dropping the phone line next week - I have had enough of GOP calls when I tell them repeatedly that I am a proud Democrat.
Second thing, about this BOD - its a pro-wrestling crowd, that is the bottom line. These are the people, along with their gleeful rage, who attend pro wrestling events and scream at the "villain" and cheer the "hero" while they beat each other over the head with chairs.

If anything tragic happens, some senseless violence against the press, Donald Trump will share responsibility. He won't accept it, of course, but he'll still be responsible.

Trump is clearly inciting violence. This type of behaviour is illegal in many countries, and the fact that the inciter is the President, makes him a clear danger to the United States itself.
