Gun shop owner compares access to 3D gun blueprints to online porn

BY ARIS FOLLEY - 08/01/18 10:33 AM EDT

A gun shop owner on Wednesday argued that people who want to "censor" access to 3D gun blueprints should also limit access to porn, comparing both for potentially causing "irreparable harm."

“If we’re going to start censoring any information out there on the internet that might do irreparable harm then we’re going to have to take off all the websites that might be out there that teach you how to make explosive devices and bombs,” Jan Morgan said during a panel discussion on CNN’s “New Day.”

“Websites such as pornography, websites that teach people how to poison other people,” Morgan continued.

“I mean, there’s a wealth of information out there that is very dangerous on the Internet,” the gun shop owner added. “So this is a First Amendment issue.”

Plastic guns aren't durable or accurate. They also have a higher misfire rate. According to the All Knowing Internet.

You can print metal guns, but metal printers are expensive.

You can already get all the stuff necessary for making your own gun quite legally. No license required, no background check. My brother made some of his own guns, mostly black-powder, but this particular law apparently doesn't have much discrimination.

Most gun shops don't live to sell single-use guns. Inaccurate guns. Or guns that are more likely to misfire.
