(1,115 posts)Mueller is not panicking ... Trump is.
Take Mueller for his word ... he will keep it.
But I'm anxious ... a hate suspense (my weakness because of impatience).

(22,007 posts)for the same reason. Another reason I don't believe the stories today about Mueller wanting to talk
to Trump.

(24,128 posts)"Negotiate" is a word that the Rudes likes to use, but I doubt Mueller is doing or has done any such thing.

(32,023 posts)And so far that has not failed me. We are told over and over again "Mueller doesn't leak". But then we are told "unnamed sources" have given information which could only come from Mueller. BS.

(73,559 posts)If Trump has indeed transitioned from a subject to a target, Mr. Mueller would have to inform Trump's legal team. If it has been leaked by anyone, it would be Trump's team.
Admittedly, I have not seen the show in question (yet). But I know that Paul Butler explained in July on MSNBC why there is some reason to suspect that this has happened -- though not claiming it definitely had. If Trump was a target now, that prevents him from being subpoenaed to testify in front of the grand jury. It would not, however, prevent him from being interviewed by prosecutors.

(53,061 posts)It is policy to do so unless it would compromise a source.
Mueller would almost certainly notify as he is a slave to routine and procedure.

(58,785 posts)in this investigation. After all, neither the president and executive branch (including its attorney general), nor congress working separately and together, have been able to stop the routines and procedures of justice from grinding on.
Will Mueller feel a need to inform, though? Trump and congress have committed many huge ethical breaches, and probable legal ones as well, and forced many irregularities into the investigation. Informing may not be considered necessary or desirable under these very extraordinary circumstances. As Triron suggests.
But one thing we do know, of course, is that Mueller doesn't ever have to interview Trump. Mueller only has to offer Trump the chance to be interviewed so he can speak up for himself. And Mueller has already checked that box repeatedly and very due-diligently.

(1,735 posts)I doubt much is expected from this 'interview'.
He'll probably refuse to answer or not recall most questions.
It's a formality and also a fishing expedition. Never know what he will bite.
Final phase.
