Okay, so Alex Jones did not show up. His lawyers were given 1 and half hours to argue their case and spent 35 minutes of it showing a recording of one of Alex’s shows. It was gawd-awful. Jones went on a Muslim attack and then talked about a female lawyer on CNN but couldn’t recall her name. So he said, “you know, that blonde gal on CNN,” while making big ta-tas gestures with his hands. Then the lawyer told the judge, “I personally don’t even listen to the guy.” In short his argument was, “I know my client is a jerk but he has First Amendment rights.”

It was amazing.

During Lil’ Bubba’s talk he added a comment at the end saying that Jones is now demanding $100,000 from the Sandy Hook parents and that shows his character.

Making their final arguments, Jones’ lawyer said that Jones was now withdrawing that motion and he no longer wants the $100,000.

Yeah, now.

We’re back in court tomorrow to hear that the young man in Massachusetts who Jones accused of being the Florida school shooter and put his picture online.

The day after the Pozner case, in the same courthouse, is a hearing in a separate defamation case against Mr Jones brought by Marcel Fontaine, who was falsely identified on InfoWars’ website as the gunman in the Parkland, Florida, school shooting in February. Mr Fontaine, who lives in Massachusetts, has never visited Florida. The Pozner family and Mr Fontaine are being represented by Mark Bankston of Farrar & Ball, a law firm based in Houston.

11. Alex Jones' reckoning is upon us

It’s a fine line. Jones’ legal team now finds itself in the precarious position of attempting to convince both the courts and his audience. To his audience, he must maintain that he’s the lone source of truth in a world overrun with dishonest media. Simultaneously, he must convince the courts that his truly odd brand of entertainment is fictional, and that no “reasonable” person would mistake it as factual.

One false step and Jones stands to lose millions, either in his viewers who abandon the show after finding out he’s misleading them for profit, or to the families of the victims he’s defamed if courts rule in their favor.

In the first of these suits, Jones will try to convince the courts that he’s playing a character, and one that only a fool would take seriously — although one viewer, Lucky Richards, clearly didn’t get the message.

Richards was sentenced to five months in prison for stalking, harassing and threatening the lives of Leonard Pozener and Veronique De La Rosa, parents of Noah, a six-year-old boy killed at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012. Judges, when hearing the Richards case, found the message of Jones so influential in Richards’ decision to carry out the crime that they barred her from tuning into the program once she was released.

For those following the case(s), things are about to get really interesting.

10. Alex Jones seeks to scuttle Sandy Hook parents' defamation suit

Houston attorney Mark Bankston brought the defamation suit against Jones, one of three he has brought in Austin against the broadcaster who in the 2016 presidential campaign gained the ear and favorable attention of President Donald Trump. Bankston said Jones presents his opinions as facts and that’s how some listeners, including a Florida woman who in 2016 was sent to prison for death threats against the Pozner family, take them.

“We cannot allow his reckless lies to continue to put their lives in danger,” Bankston said.

13. I talked to Mark's dad today

They are very proud of Mark. Yesterday, the hearing was on a case where a young man living in MASS. was identified by Jones as being the Parkland shooter. This young man had never been within 1,000 miles of the Parkland school For yesterday's hearing, Jones brought in a new set of lawyers and they tried to claim that Jones did not control the site where the material was posted.
