I can't stand how anyone can stand Trump.

If you took the worst qualities of every person imaginable and fused it into one person, that person would be Trump.

I was not a huge fan of HRC, but I can say that even if Trump ran on the democratic ballot, and had a lot of good left-leaning notions, I would still have voted republican.

If you remove all the politics from Trump, he is still a crappy person. People who are Republican give me hell because I don't like him. They automatically label me as liking HRC or Sanders (I like Sanders over HRC).

But the rate runs way past politics and into the deeper soul of who he is.

Trump is like a middle-stage Hitler. Hitler was not terrible from the beginning, he actually helped Germany in quite a few ways, but as time went on, he became more and more radical. Limiting the rights Jews had, to eventually killing millions of them.

If we did not have the checks and balances in our government, I can only imagine how overpowering Trump would be at this point.

His supporters are really no different. I know a few who have "Jumped Ship", but as more and more came out about Trump, both in the sense of criminal misdeeds and moral misdeeds, his supporters seem unfazed.

This really is not a new problem. During WWII, there were a small group of people in the US who loved the Nazi's as well.

However it is evident to me the two-party system is outdated, and something needs to be done to fix our country. Our nation seems to be divided about 50/50 between D and R. The issue is the division between them cuts deeper and deeper every day.

Because of this, I truly think our country has hit a roadblock in terms of advancement. Our infrastructure, education system, economy, and other systems are evident of this issue. Everyone is fighting like school children, and we need to reach common ground to move together.

I am only in my mid 20's, and I think before I reach 80, we may see a "one party" system in the USA. If not, there has to be more unification between the left and right.

Getting back to Trump himself..it is clear that no matter how bad he gets, or as more of his dirty laundry gets aired out, there will still be a devoted group of fans. He is quoted as saying he could stand in the middle of a street and shoot people and not lose voters. Sadly this is true.

A lot of the correlation becomes clear when you start looking at republicans and education. A lot of people who lack education and common sense seem to be Trump supporters. They tend to have a "hive mind" and cannot think from themselves. They go to a coffee shop and a rumor someone picks up gets circulated at their own little round table.

They take this as truth and don't seem to bother to fact check it. What is worse they will actually defend their concepts and get hostile and argumentative instead of listening to another side's argument. I find most democrats easier to talk to most republicans.

Another big issue is the lack of care. A lot of people take to Facebook and other areas to complain. These achieves absolutely nothing. If a lot of what goes down today went down 100 years ago, there would be people getting hung or shot for treason.

We had almost as many people NOT vote than voted. This needs to change. I think a lot of it is because people don't think it makes any difference. Getting rid of people who are elected to only serve themselves and not the people are the issue. Sadly this issue is on both sides of the isle, but more prevalent with Republicans.

Anyway, this is my first thread, so sorry for rambling.

I look at the crowds he gets and I feel something much stronger than simple distaste. His supporters seem less human to me and I know how wrong it is to feel that way, that it's sinking to their level. I'm working on it; it can't be healthy for me.

It is mindboggling to me... he is a truly a nasty person. Liberals are called elitist but the truth is more about being able to think critically. I have found that people who don't want the bother of thinking for themselves or thinking critically give themselves over to a "higher power" or some kind of demi-god. It's too taxing for Trump devotees to analyze and see Trump for what he is. Most of his base supporters are nothing more than stooges that are being exploited by a con man. The ones that are truly feel benefited by Trump are in it for the greed, power and staying relevant as the world moves forward. I get it that Trump supporters may feel threatened, invisible and/or vulnerable but they are just giving themselves an easy out. His supporters seem more interested in owning the urban/ elitist/ liberals etc. that they are willing to sacrifice what's in their best interest. Again, it is all just mindboggling.

Over the course of a hundred plus rallies he has perfected the art of the one-liner. He throws something outrageous out, gauges the response he gets, rewords it and see if it gets an even stronger result.

I keep hoping someone will steal the Trump animatronic robot from Disney World and replace the one in the Oval Office with it. At least it is more composed and articulate that the real one.

And its thumbs don't move, so it can't tweet.

(I didn't want to get too graphic), it is great to hear from our younger generation and know that they understand the degenerating situation that we face.

History will tell you that Democrats have played by the rules mostly. Republicans have always been about winning no matter what.

That were available readily for a white man a few decades ago.. It makes perfect sense.

They see Trump as imperfect but effective vehicle for change..

Yes I agree a good portion of the population is mind numb. A lot of people are comparing the current situation as the movie 1984. Since I'm younger, it seems more like the movie Idiocracy.

I am not a religious person, and not to offend religious people on here..but a lot of people who are of any devout faith seem "mind numb" as well.

They depend on religion as some sort of crutch of reality.
They think the inner workings of their day are all based on God. If something did not go their way, then it was "part of God's plan". I have read many versions of the bible, and they all said God gave us free will. So it seems contradictory that God gave them free will, but can bend their own will using "thoughts and prayers".

Then of course you have some people who are very religious, but don't actually practice anything they preach. They can easily be lumped into the same group of people who claim to be "patriots" but only actually care about their own party (Republicans) and don't actually care about their country.

As someone mentioned earlier, I am hoping the younger generation turns the ship around before it hit an iceberg and sinks. However it has to be a two-pronged approach. Schools (pre college) should teach politics, and the child's parents should get them into it as well.

I am actually in college right now and am considering starting a career in politics. Mainly because I can get extremely passionate and irritated at the same time about the current state of affairs. Here are some of my major concerns...

1. Military spending needs cut drastically. Despite China having a population 4 times as large as the US, we spend 3 times as much on the military than they do.
2. Both sides need to agree on infrastructure bills to fix a lot of failing roads and bridges. We need to bring back the WPA.
3. We need to get serious about green energy.
4. Using money to influence politicians, AKA lobbying, needs to be made illegal.
5. We need universal healthcare in order to be aligned with most modern countries.
6. Education K-12 needs to have funding increased.
7. Something needs done about the rising costs of college.
8. Something needs to be done about the rising pay of CEO's. I would like to see a maximum wage.
9. Jobs need to be brought back to the USA. Right now neither side seems overly concerned about this.
